A couple of photos and a LO

Well I have just had the laziest day today. It's nice having Owen home on holidays. I've spent the whole day just surfing the net, playing with Jack and doing a bit of digi scrapping. And that's after we got out of bed at about 10 this morning. Mind you after having a nap between 5.30 and 7.30 last night Jack didn't end up going to sleep until 11 and then woke during the night and came in with us.

I had a little play with my camera this afternoon and got a couple of shots that I think look okay. What do you think?
And here's the digi LO I did today...

And the credits...Shabby Princess Shabby Smiles overlay, recoloured; Sande Kreiger Mary Mary Quite Contrary Blue Cardstock; Rhonna Farrer 2ps Free New Year Paper 1 and tag; Tia Bennett haPEA birthday Age Label Tag and Birthday Love Brush; Debbie Fisher's zigzag stitching, border dotted and border line, date stamp and photo corners.

Well I better go and get Jack bathed. I've got some massive potatoes in the oven for dinner tonight.

Ciao

Come on people!!!!

Even with the bribe of a freebie scrap pack(see the end of last post) still only 2 of the 30 visitors I had yesterday left a comment!!!

How cute is this kid?

Seriously... Hmmm, so what's been happening...

Well, on Friday night I went out to dinner with the girls from work. We try to go out once a month but have missed the last couple of months. We went to the Malaysia Hut and the food was bloody fantastic. So frangrant and yummy and for $28 each you can have a banquet with soup, 3 entrees and about 5 different main dishes. After dinner most of the girls came back to my place to play Singstar. It was the first time two of them had ever done kareoke. Jenny, Diana and Toni left at about midnight but Charlene stayed stayed until nearly 2. We had a great time.

On Saturday, Jack & I went out shopping and I got an absolute bargain outfit. It's a pair of 3/4 dress pants and a sheer black top with a satin(ish) collar and sleeve cuffs and it was $28.77 for both. It looks really nice on. I just need to get a long black singlet top to go under it and I'll be set.

Not much on Sunday, Mum came over and we went for out normal Sunday afternoon walk down to the creek and then back through the gardens. Jack had a great time walking through all the puddles and we found a soccer ball. The water was pretty cold though and when we were walking across the bridge on our way home Jack walked on a syringe. It was flat footed on top of it and of course he had shoes on and I don't think there was a needle in it but how awful could it have been. Here's a couple of photos from our walk.

Monday the girls from my Mother's group came over and I got to nurse all the babies. cluck cluck cluck. I can't beleive how much bigger the babies get every single week. And Michelle from my Mum's group is pregnant too so in a few months there'll be another new baby. cluck cluck cluck.
Owen has started holidays today and he's about to head out with Jack to do some boy shopping. We bought a wizz bang automated watering system a couple of years ago and Owen has decided that he might actually install it finally. I'll wait until I see it :P

Friday is our 11th wedding anniversary. Mum is going to babysit Jack and we are going to go to dinner and the movies just like real grown ups. Very exciting.

Anyhoo, that's it. I'm going to mop the floors while the boys are out.
And check this out...Jack the Magician

Ciao.

ps. I've changed my blog song to Buttons by Pussycat Dolls cause that's what a want to be when I grow up...a pussycat doll that is, not a button.

Kelly Clarkson's Because Of You. I'm not really a Kelly Clarkson fan but I quite like a couple of her songs including this one. I was looking for a new song to put on my blog and was listening to this. The film clip is sooooo sad but wouldn't it be nice to be able to pause for that kind of retrospect when you're in the middle of an argument. I'll have to try to inbed that thought in my brain.

Oh and I better post my LO's, the first two are paper and the third one is digital using
GABhappyscrap's Bright n Funky kit and a frame by Leah Riordan.

Oh and anyone who reads this please leave a comment. As an incentive for anyone that leaves a comment within the next 48 hours I will randomly select someone to send a little scrap pack to.

Music I LOVE!!

I thought I'd share some of my favourite songs, I was going to put clips in but the list kept growing so I'm going to link them instead except this one...
I mean seriously what's not to love about John Butler Trio. I mean the man is just gorgeous and his voice is superb so to start off my song list here's Peaches and Cream

Another JBT song, Zebra, the rythum of this song just ROCKS!!
And then there's James Blunt, Goodbye My Lover, makes me cry "I'm so hollow baby" sob sob sob
Love Pink's whole I'm Not Dead CD but especially Mr President, it's my car singing song at the moment.
Sheryl Crow, Strong Enough, I think this song was written for my husband :P I love the Lilith Fair DVD version on this, much grittier. Love the whole Lilith Fair DVD actually. If anyone loves female vocalists and hasn't seen this you should. It ROCKS!!! Sarah McLachlan, Sheryl Crow, Indigo Girls, Shaun Colvin, Jewel &,, Meredith Brooks. It's a fantastic concert.
Linkin Park-Numb, One Step Closer, In the End Love all three.
Pete Murray, So Beautiful
Jack Johnson, another singer I just love. He has the chilliest sound-Better Together
Robbie Williams, he's hot. I love Let Me Entertain You, Angels, Rock DJ(love the video clip, those spanky pants just melt me :P) and Better Man
Indigo Girls, Closer To Fine
Guns n Roses Sweet Child of Mine and Patience
Melissa Etheridge, Bring Me Some Water
Faith No More, Easy. We had this for our bridal waltz. It was the first song Owen and I ever danced to all those years ago.
Meredith Brooks, Bitch
Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Give It Away I love the whole Blood Sugar Sex Magik CD. Flea cracks me up.
Alanis Morrisette, anything but especially You Oughta Know
Man In a Box, Alice In Chains, this was our warm up song when we used to go out clubbing when I was 18/19 LOL
System of a Down, Chop Suey
Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol
I also love Gwen Stefani, Chris Isaac, Baby Animals, INXS, U2 and oh so much more. Bit of an eclectic mix hey.

A Digi Page and finally some photos

Here's a couple of digi pages I've done this morning and last night

Credits...Amy Teets Sun Porch kit and hearts delight font

Credits...Angie Brigss orange solid pp, Angel Friends music sheet somewhere off the net, Circle Swooshy Frame from Carrie Stephens, Frame from Leah Riordan, Mary, Mary Quite Contrary Blue Cardstock by Sande Krieger, lined card by ksharonk, jomi_paper2 by Lisa Whitney, Sunporch pp05 by Amy Teets & the fonts are Harting and Pieces of Eight...and I nearly forgot the kids wings are Scrappy Pony Designs Doodle Wing Stickers, arn't they cute?

Well here's what I've been up to lately...On Friday night I went to Scrappy Days for a bit of a crop and chat which was great. I didn't get home until after midnight. There is some really gorgeous new stock in at the moment. I could spend a small fortune.

Owen was off on the weekend so after a big sleep in on Saturday Owen, Jack and Ben(a friend of ours who fixes planes-I don't know his job title:P) went out to the airport to see the mig jet. The Disney channel was there filming as one of the mig owners kids had won a competition about their Dad having the best job in the world. Just in case you don't know what a mig is it's some type of old Russian fighter jet. There's a local guy here who owns one that does joy flights. Jack got to see the jet, a helicopter and even got to go for a ride on a tractor. Here's a photo of Jack on the ladder of the jet.
Of course by the time the boys got home we were running late so we quickly loaded up the trailer and I got ready to go to a BBQ while the guys went to the dump.

We went to a BBQ at our good friend's Kim & David's house to celebrate Jack's little mate, Jared's 2nd Birthday. It was a great afternoon. The kids had a ball running around and jumping on the trampoline and stuff and I got to have a bit of a play with my new camera. Here's a couple of shots...
On Sunday our power was cut off so they could do some work in the area so we went and dropped our old ensemble base to my Aunt's house and then went to McDonald's for breakfast. I LOVE their pancakes. Yummmmmmm!!!!! After that we dropped the trailer back and headed off to the botannical gardens for a bit of a play on the swings and more photo opportunities for me...
Monday morning we just hung around the house, tidying up out the front a bit and then in the afternoon headed off to the Crazy Joker to meet up with our Mother's group. Just about all of the husbands were able to come too which was fantastic. Unfortunately for Owen Jack cried after his first time down the big slide and refused to go back up again but he managed to find some other kids to tag along with to give him and excuse to go on the slide without his son. Are you all bored to tears yet??? That's about it. Exciting life I lead hey!! Jack's been a bit of a trial lately. He's finally worked out that he can just hop off the naughty mat. I'm actually surprised it worked for as long as it did so now I've resorted to putting him in his room.

And that's it, oh and a couple of paper LO's and a band aid tin. The first LO is my 2nd design team LO for Scrappy Days

My new camera!!

Well, guess what I got, although I realise the title gives it away. I got a digital SLR for Mother's Day. I realise it's a bit of an extravagent gift for Mother's Day but we were going to get one and any excuse is a good one plus I think Owen was feeling guilty because he just go some new LCD flat screen monitor or something like that. Anyhoo so I've only had a little play with it and my photos are very amateur so I've only got one to post...
Jack looks like he's got really red hair but irl it's only just a little tinge however he is as white as snow irl :P so that's true to colour. We got the Nikon D40X and it's a really great camera. Nice and quick, very easy to hold etc etc now all I need to do is learn how to take photos like Clair, Michelle or Fiona and I'll be set.
In other news...well there's none. On Monday we went to the Crazy Joker, kids amusement place, which was SOOOOOOO much fun. My favourite bit was the giant slide, unfortunately for Jack. He was okay the first couple of times but the last time I had to practically drag him down. I'm very claustraphobic and not the most petite of girls so in some areas of the big activity thing I had to tell myself to breath deeply, don't panic, but it was great fun.
Worked on Tuesday which was good. We've got lots of new stock arriving at the moment which I find very exciting. So I'm having a great time doing up some new displays and things. I'll take some photos tomorrow actually.
Wednesday and today, Jack and I have just been hanging around the house. I've been doing some digital prints for the entertainment room and not much else. I have a layout half finished sitting in my scrap room but I just don't have the mojo at the moment. Been overthinking a few things lately I think and it's gotten me a bit down in the dumps but anyhoo, it's nearly the weekend and Owen's off so it should be good.
We watched the Survivor final last night. I cried!! Any Survivor fans out there you just wait until you see this season, Survivor Fiji. It's one of the best seasons so far I think, they've come up with some good twists and things.
Anyhoo, better go and get Jack bathed and put dinner on.
Ciao!!

WARNING-This post contains offensive language

I was sitting at my scrap desk the other day sorting out my buttons and Jack was sitting on the floor at my feet happily drawing away when all of a sudden Jack comes out with "F#ck it b*tch". Oh, I thought to myself, that's not a very polite exclamation for a 2 year old. He said it again so I looked over at him about to try to explain to a 2 year old that little boys don't use those words when I note that he's looking upwards. I have all my scrapbook pages blue tac'd to the wall. Jack pointed up towards the top and said "Grandma" and of course there is the explanation for the foul mouth. Grandma is photographed with Jack using a bucket at the beach. Thank God!!!

I also wanted to share a recipe. I've been checking out some of the recipe blogs around and saving recipes hell, west and crooked this morning. I really enjoy cooking new things so I thought I might share some of my favourite recipes. So to kickstart the recipe thing I'll start off with Chilli!! Now I'm not really a fan of hot so I really reduce the amount of chilli in this recipe. I only use 2 teaspoons and it just has a nice little tiny bite to it, I think that if you put the 3 1/2 tablespoons in that you would never be able to use your tongue again. This chilli has the most delicious flavour to it and it is one of my all time favourite recipes. It's worth the ingredient list once you try it. And with it a recipe for cornbread which is devine. It is one of Owen's most favourite things. So here's a photo...

And here are the recipes...

Just like on Dee's blog

I thought I'd post a photo mosaic of some photos of our home after seeing how cool Dee's looked.

Well the news is....

drumroll please..............I got a position as a Design Team Member at Scrappy Days!! I'm really excited and more than a little nervous. I even went to a crop the other night which was FABULOUS!! It's nice to spread out all you junk and not have to worry about toddlers touching or husbands calculating the dollar amount spent. :P So that is my big scrappy news. And here is my first DT LO...

In other news at hand :P, nothing really exciting, I mopped my floors, did some washing, changed some nappies. Grandma came over today and we went for our weekly exploration walk with Jack. My Mum has an affiliation with nature, where as when I walk Jack, we just walk, when we walk with Grandma we look at everything. The birds, foliage, seed pods, lizards, bugs, ...everything. It's actually quite fun. We make sure we bring home something for Daddy such as today's spent grass seed head. He loves it...not. But seriously we have seen some cool things. A few weeks ago we saw a lizard in a tree that jumped in the creek and swam underwater. See... cool huh!!

Tomorrow Jack and I are going to the gardens to meet up with our baby group for a sausage sizzle. Owen's working which is a bummer but I'm sure we'll have a great time.

That's it. I was going to do a big post but I feel like scrappin' so I'm outa here. I'll leave you with some photos and LO's though...

...how many times can I use ... in a post ;)
These LO's were for the CC challenges over at 3 Angels Scrapping...

Memory Journal

So I decided to start a memory journal this year inspired by the amazing Heidi Swapp.  She is so talented, I just love her style.  I'm ...
