Been Scrappin'

Just a quick post to show off some LO's. Owen's off this weekend so Jack has been mostly occupied today with Daddy so I've had some time to scrap. Since I have no mojo of my own however I've been scraplifting today and I'm really happy with what I've done. I've got that many photos to scrap and I just can't think of any original ideas. Anyhoo... here they are.

The Search for the Ear Tree

Last night Grandma asked me if I could find out where the ear tree was at the botanical gardens as she and Grandad are going to a wedding there in a couple of weeks. I thought I'd just find it so off we set, down one of the paths. Now I know the gardens are big but I thought that an ear tree would be something that you'd know if you saw it. We found the ampitheatre with the giant xylaphone(sp?), we found a peacock, we found the ducks and the turtles, we found all the animal enclosures, we found some really cool trees, we found all the striletziers(sp?) so then we decided to ask and you know where the ear tree is? Of course it's a little bit further along than the furtherest place we got to from where the info centre is, so, back we went. The ear tree gets it's name from it's seed pods(there weren't any) so there's no way I would have found it. DOH!! We had a great walk though and saw some fantastic plants.
Jack absolutely loves birds and was cooing with delight when we saw the lorikeets bathing under the fountain. We ran into JG and had lunch with him and then checked out the rest of the gardens. It was a great day and I think I probably did about 15000 steps today so that was a bonus. Here's a couple of pictures. The ear tree, if anyone's interested, is the one with Jack's pram parked in front of it so you get an idea of it's size. It's huge and it was only planted in 1978.
Anyhoo, I'm sure I've bored everyone to tears by now so I'll just post my pics and get out of here.

Try again with more photos

I love Sunday's!!!

I have had a really great day today. I think I'm just naturally more relaxed on a Sunday. This morning after I dropped Owen to work, Jack and I headed off to the markets to buy some veges which I think I'm definately going to do every Sunday. There's the most adorable little old man there who sell the best zuchinni's and button squash so cheap. It's so nice to look around at all the different things. There are two stalls there that sell the best hand made stuffed animals. They're adorable and the orchids there are fantastic. When I have some spare cash I'm going to get one for my entry way table.
After the markets Jack and I came home and I put some pumpkin on to make some pumpkin soup to freeze and then we played for a while. Then Jack had a nap and I had a coffee and some internet time and then when he woke up he just layed on my lap for a while for a nice cuddle then we did some more cooking and stuff.
Tonight we went to Grandma & Grandad's for Grandad's 83rd Birthday. I love going there for dinner. It's so noisy and busy and there's so much conversation. Jack had a great time running around with Patrick and the bigger kids.
Anyway I've really got to get to bed but before I go I'll inundate everyone with some photos of the displays I was yabbering about the other day although I'm a bit disappointed with the photos as the displays look much more sparkly in real life.

Owen Hates My Singing!!!!

I was just thinking about what I should post about in here and I'm listening to Pussycat Dolls, Don't Cha on the headphones and Owen's just told me he's going to have to go and watch TV or something to get away from my singing!!!! How bloody rude is he!!! That's what he gets for not giving me speakers with my new computer. I can't hear how bad my singing is. LOL!!! How mean is he.

Ok, on the work front I had a fantastic day today. I re-did the top shelves in the manchester dept and they look great. Very romantic and girly. I'm really pleased with the display. I'll try to remember to take my camera to work on Friday and take some photos.

On the Jack front, he's teething and not sleeping very well therefore none of us are sleeping very well and then last night he was sick in our bed. Poor little fella. Hopefully we'll have a better night tonight but so far it dosn't look too promising.

Owen's off for the next two days which is great. Tomorrow I'm going to Kerryn's for lunch with Jenny & Kylie and the babies and then on Thursday I'm going to try to talk Owen into going shopping and having lunch at Go Sushi which has just opened. That's how exciting my life is that the most exciting thing that's happened lately is that a new sushi shops opened.

Loving my job!!

I am just loving my job at the moment. I've had a bit of a role change recently and I'm enjoying it sooooo much. Instead of doing all the boring office bizzo I'm now looking after the manchester department and merchandising the bedding area. I have such big plans. I downloaded the new playgro catalogue last night and had a trawl through to see what new deisgns they have. I think I'm really going to be able to increase our sales. There is just so much beautiful linen around lately. I LOVE Kas and Hiccups and Aura. They would have to be my favs and I love making beds!! I've even been making mine ar home lately I'm that inspired. Plus I get to have a little break from Jack and catch up on all the workplace gossip.

Memory Journal

So I decided to start a memory journal this year inspired by the amazing Heidi Swapp.  She is so talented, I just love her style.  I'm ...
