I'm loving it and I've almost made it to half way through the year which is an accomplishment for me. I've been loving looking back through my year. My book is getting a bit fat though so I might have to re-bind it somehow.</p><p>After only paper crafting in dribs and drabs for the last few years it's really nice to have a little, non-overwhelming project to keep me inspired.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; It's really nice to have that extra break. On Friday night I started to get a sore throat, Saturday morning I woke up feeling crappy, coughing etc but went to work anyway . We only have three staff and one was already on holidays so it would have been tough going leaving one by themselves on a Saturday. I got worse, as you tend to do when you get the flue and by Tuesday I knew I shouldn't go to work Wednesday especially with the whole COVID 19 thing. I had a phone consultation with my doctor and he gave me three days off so I've been off for six whole days!! I've felt crappy the whole time but still made use of my time napping and scrapping lol. Definitely been taking it easy. I've had no energy. I'm starting to feel better but am sick of coughing I'll tell you now. Anyway back to work tomorrow.<br />
Here's what I've done<br />

She's got arthritis and she had surgery a couple of years ago for bulging discs in her spine and she's just not the most agile of dogs so I bought her a pram. It's so cute although I do feel a little bit eccentric when we use it lol. I took her and Peppa to the vets in it the other day and walking across the busy intersection I could feel the eyes on me. She loves it though and it's good because now we can all go for family walks and when Coco gets to tired/sore to walk she can sit up in the pram. Peppa loves it too.<br />

I dropped some painted rocks the other day on the way to the vets including one on the edge of the vets driveway. While I was sitting outside waiting for them to bring Coco back out a father and his daughter walked past on the way home from school. The little girls spotted the rock and picked it up but her father told her to leave it there.<br />

I've also been scrapbooking lately. It had been ages since I had done anything because my desk was hidden behind a mountain of junk! We had a big clear out while we were on holidays the other week and sold a heap of stuff so now my desk is all clear. There's still a few things that need to find new homes so I can get to the filing drawer where all my rub-ons and things are but there is access to enough stuff to have a good play. It feels good to be back to doing something crafty.<br />

I've also been doing a lot more cooking lately. Before the whole COVID 19 thing we used to get takeaway at least three nights a week with life being so busy. I don't know how I'm going to cope with going back to that! Anyway with no basketball or gym etc. there is plenty of time to cook at home. I made<a href="https://www.taste.com.au/recipes/lemonade-scones/292387e6-4dcf-4c72-b8e6-e903384d1c34"> lemonade scones</a>...<br />

And last night we had slow cooked bbq porterhouse roast. It's really tasty and easy. You just coat the roast in <a href="https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/445863?istCompanyId=909b5da6-e33c-4de8-a6e2-0861c4cbcd86&istFeedId=c54e05d9-bacb-45a1-aa5a-c48531ceab7d&istItemId=wrimrxxml&istBid=t&cmpid=smsm:ds:GOOGLE:Woolies_SmartShopping_Others:PRODUCT_GROUP&gclid=Cj0KCQjw-r71BRDuARIsAB7i_QOK0GsYrqAF38AoLoudt3ZiZAXFBDkNLQVcSufT5FMKkTEj9h-0WqcaAm-gEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds">McCormicks Grill Mates Smokin Texas BBQ</a> rub and stick it in the slow cooker for 8 or so hours on low. I also donated plasma this week. They have a new machine which is pretty cool but the flow back is strong. I ended up with a whopper of a bruise that is still fading. I think it was just because of the fast flow. They turned it down after the first return. If you have ever thought of donating now would be a great time to start because of COVID 19 there are alot of people who are unable to donate at the moment. Blood donation doesn't even take very long to do, plasma takes a bit longer but just think of it as doing a random act of kindness for a stranger. It's just a little stick and then it doesn't hurt. They have some great snacks for after donation too ;) <a href="https://www.donateblood.com.au/one-step-closer">Here's a link if you want more info</a>.<br />

Our neighbor from across the road came over to see Owen the other afternoon to let him know he had seen a cat taking her kittens over our fence during the day. We found her hiding in behind some tools and things near our shed. Owen named her Heidi lol. The kittens were adorable as all kittens are. Very very new, eyes not even open. I contacted Capricorn Animal Aid who suggested we try to befriend the Mumma cat and catch her if possible so I put out food for a couple of days but on Sunday she moved them to the storm drain down the end of our street. I had been hanging washing on the line all day and must have spooked her. Poor little babies. It was cold for a couple of nights there. Apparently she's moved them a couple of times already so Owen has set up a nice warm out of the way spot in case she decides to come back and we'll leave out food for a few days.<br />
I'm sick at the moment, sore throat, cough, runny nose etc. I called to make an appointment for the doctor today as I think I'll need a few days off work and because I have flue like symptoms I have to do a phone consultation not go to the doctors surgery!? I understand that they are wanting to protect everyone but with no cases of COVID 19 in Central Queensland it seems like a bit of overkill. Anyway it will be interesting to see how an over the phone consult goes. Once a month I have three days off in a row which is now and I've been sick the whole time :(jodyghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07340437589040223832noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23894861.post-62753492124108844842020-03-31T13:50:00.001+10:002020-05-05T10:56:59.764+10:00Social Distancing :(So COVID 19 or Coronavirus...what a bitch!! Just in case someone in the future comes across this post and is at all interested in what Covid 19 is, <span style="font-family: inherit;">it is a <span style="background-color: white;">disease which causes respiratory illness (like the flu) with symptoms such as a cough, fever, and in more severe cases, difficulty breathing.</span>. "Apparently" it started in a wet market in Wuhan in China. There are so many dodgy and scary theories around about whether or not it did organically originate there that it doesn't even bode thinking about. A wet market sounds like a hideous place to start with anyway. Google Wuhan wet market but I warn you it is not very nice.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
So currently in Australia we are practicing social distancing. The current restrictions are:<br />
<ul>
<li>Indoor and outdoor meetings have been limited to a maximum of 2 people with a few exceptions such as a family going out to walk the dog together </li>
<li>Only 10 people are allowed at a funeral</li>
<li>Only 5 people at a wedding which includes the bride and groom! Crazy!</li>
<li>People are urged to stay home unless they need essentials such as food and medications, medical needs, compassionate care duties</li>
<li>You can exercise outdoors but not in a group and you have to keep a safe distance from others, deemed to be 1.5 metres</li>
<li>You are working or studying which is unable to be done at home.</li>
<li>If you are over 70, are over 60 with health issues or Indigenous aged over 50 it if highly recommended that you stay home.</li>
</ul>
This is why...<br />

Scary numbers hey<br />
<br />
Where we end up as a world civilization at the end of all this is anyone's guess. Economically it's a nightmare! There are shops closing left right and center. There is no in restaurant dining allowed, take away's only. Most of the clothing shops have closed for at least a month. Those that are able are working from home. I work in retail and we are still currently open. Even with all these restrictions we still have people who when approached say they are "just looking". It's crazy!! And so many of them are in the high risk age groups. There is massive uncertainty around every aspect of life at the moment.<br />
<br />
It feels like the bizarre start of some movie that is just taking a really long time to get to the plot twist.<br />
<br />
Sunday night was probably our last Grandparent dinner for who knows how long. Every Sunday we have my Mum and Grandad and Owen's Dad over for a family dinner. We've been doing it for years. Owen's Dad hasn't been well lately so has missed a few dinners and his nursing home is now on lock down so he isn't able to leave there anyway. I felt very sad at the end of the night and shed a few tears at bedtime thinking of not having that interaction every week, particularly with Grandad as he is 96. He is feeling a bit down as his lawn bowls have been called off. He really misses it when he isn't able to attend. I just would hate for us to pass anything along to any of them considering Owen and I both work in retail and are both still working and interacting with various people who we have no idea about their travel backgrounds. It's shit.<br />
<br />
All gyms are closed which is sort of ironic as I had only started going about a month ago after Owen wanting me to join for ever! We had been going Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights and it was a nice family outing believe it or not. I was enjoying it and feeling good from it. Since we've stopped going my dodgy knee that I whacked on my desk at work months ago keeps getting all seized up.<br />
<br />
Owen and I are both due to start holidays this coming Saturday. We were meant to be going away to Jack's Under 16 Basketball State Championships but of course that was called off weeks ago as has all sport at the moment. I do really miss basketball. I feel so sorry for the team. They have worked so hard all season and were achieving great results. It had been postponed until June but today there was an email to arrange refunds of fees so I am pretty sure this season will be a wash out but we'll keep our fingers crossed. It's interesting to watch the team. The boys play for different clubs so during club games there is often a bit of animosity between the different players when they are against each other but they come together so well when they play in the same team. I even miss watching them train.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9Gfy3qHJHbo/XoK14f7QWsI/AAAAAAAAKDs/9ETEZfluU4MFW01kijJ6ZiFFUhxuSMsaQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/20200209_140203.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9Gfy3qHJHbo/XoK14f7QWsI/AAAAAAAAKDs/9ETEZfluU4MFW01kijJ6ZiFFUhxuSMsaQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/20200209_140203.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Since we won't be going away we'll be doing a bit of a tidy up and some painting and stuff. I had already painted the bathroom and toilet...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AxQy_3Froas/XoK3rqxWxtI/AAAAAAAAKD4/L2TwujJtjLMif1_iyJ2hvxf5Bmr9Z3W6wCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/bathroom.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AxQy_3Froas/XoK3rqxWxtI/AAAAAAAAKD4/L2TwujJtjLMif1_iyJ2hvxf5Bmr9Z3W6wCLcBGAsYHQ/s400/bathroom.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The trims in the rest of the house look disgusting now in comparison. I am planning on painting the entire house inside and we have some outside painting to do too although I am only off for a weeks so might focus more on sorting cupboards etc. rather than starting a massive paint job. Owen is off for 2 weeks so we'll see what he can accomplish.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
School finished a week early, well sort of. Since we are both still working we would have been able to still send Jack to school. Apparently selling stuff makes you an essential service...who knew? We have kept him home though for both safety and because it would be pretty crappy at school at the moment with all your mates being at home. So he is home schooling this week since it is technically still a school week. We're being pretty lenient about the quantity though. This whole thing is so stressful as it is without having to argue with a disgruntled teenager who just wants to play Playstation with his mates. There was an email from school yesterday however to say they will update in the coming days regarding preparation for home schooling next term so that will be a big upheaval for the students, particularly the seniors. The thought of home schooling for months is pretty daunting. My Year 10 Math skills suck!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So normally on my day off I would hit the Op Shops but since I'm a responsible citizen I am staying home. I've been out in the garden this morning. I planted out some rocket in our veggie patch and then grabbed my camera to snap some photos of all the insects around the place. There are so many butterflies around at the moment but they are pretty hard to get a good photo of.</div>

Not that kind of test. He knows we're his parents but a hereditary DNA test. I'm really interested to see what it comes back with. It felt a bit wierd to be swabbing inside my child's cheek.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Now we have to post the results off to the USA and await the results.jodyghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07340437589040223832noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23894861.post-62725304550030242372019-01-01T22:46:00.000+10:002019-01-03T20:37:34.240+10:00Long time no type...I'm back!!<br />
<br />
Very very long time, no post lol. I haven't blogged in years but I thought what the hey. I used to love looking back over the years so here goes...<br />
<br />
Happy New Year!!! So last night Jack and I headed down to the beach house.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NHlwwTiTz6E/XCtTJubIRyI/AAAAAAAAJjk/MQY1aQ1s1wc3_aUU4rWVY77G-mHpnJ0nwCLcBGAs/s1600/20181231_192538.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NHlwwTiTz6E/XCtTJubIRyI/AAAAAAAAJjk/MQY1aQ1s1wc3_aUU4rWVY77G-mHpnJ0nwCLcBGAs/s640/20181231_192538.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Owen stayed home since he had to work today which sucks but Jack and I went down and spent New Year's ever with my Granddad, Aunt Fay, cousin Julie and her family. Some of us made it to midnight.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SL0n4agSJI4/XCtTXnMj99I/AAAAAAAAJkI/kVBR7ryVU3ARqQuNtq5RDaRg7TtwmSRjwCEwYBhgL/s1600/Snapchat-792927314.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="620" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SL0n4agSJI4/XCtTXnMj99I/AAAAAAAAJkI/kVBR7ryVU3ARqQuNtq5RDaRg7TtwmSRjwCEwYBhgL/s640/Snapchat-792927314.jpg" width="307" /></a></div>
<br />
Jack and I had a big sleep in until 10 which was a real surprise since we were away from home and we both normally sleep in soft beds and air conditioning. The beach house has fans and hard beds. It's an interesting mix of hand me downs and odds and bods down there but it's much more about location and the people. I mean it would be great if the beach house was all pretty and Hampton's style decorated but it's just not. I've tried and I have a whole Pinterest board of ideas but time and money are a bit of a hindrance.<br />
<br />
So today we had our annual New Year's Day lunch. The weather has been amazing lately. Top temperature of very early 30's. The breeze out on the veranda today was super pleasant. We had a smaller group than normal for lunch, just 10 kids and 12 adults. It was just lovely.<br />
<br />
In the afternoon we headed down to the beach for the kids to have a swim. The water temperature was lovely and the waves were a great size for the kids to boogie board. It's so funny watching all the adults doing head counts over and over watching the kids in the water. My Jack is such a great kid. I could see him watching his cousin Emmy who was heading too far out so he called her back in to stay with the group. He can be such a responsible and switched on kid. Hopefully I got some great photos today with my new camera but I left it down at the beach house, doh! I did get a couple of snaps on my photo though.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1RRfbH1a7aY/XCtTQ9B35mI/AAAAAAAAJjo/1hfFaJ7b7-Ut7LYUxL3W1oT18MqgGQgRwCLcBGAs/s1600/20190101_161409.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1186" data-original-width="1600" height="474" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1RRfbH1a7aY/XCtTQ9B35mI/AAAAAAAAJjo/1hfFaJ7b7-Ut7LYUxL3W1oT18MqgGQgRwCLcBGAs/s640/20190101_161409.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Cooee Bay is such a beautiful beach. Being at the beach is incredibly grounding and peaceful. It feels so nice to walk along the water's edge with the waves lapping you feet, the sand between you toes, the fresh breeze and the warm sun on your skin. If I wasn't so attached to my home I would seriously love to live at the beach.<br />
<br />
I love Jack spending time with his second cousins. I think as an only child he likes to feel part of that family group although I could see a bit of seperation due to his age today. I know he's looking forward to the arrival of his other second cousins this weekend.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BO1ZHDms1Z0/XCtTVFWUDNI/AAAAAAAAJjs/KNblv2_dRcQqQITiuVGitWhF49o-IeozwCLcBGAs/s1600/20190101_160918.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BO1ZHDms1Z0/XCtTVFWUDNI/AAAAAAAAJjs/KNblv2_dRcQqQITiuVGitWhF49o-IeozwCLcBGAs/s640/20190101_160918.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
So New Year's resolutions...I'm in two minds about. I find them hard to stick to. You know I always want the same things, a happier, healthier more prioritised life but it seems so hard to do. I'm ever hopeful though. I made bad food choices today (double pavlova servings at lunch, whoops) but am keen to get back into Keto from tomorrow. I've had great results already losing over 25kg so I'm hoping to make goal by the end of this year. It's completely do-able. I'm definitely trying to stay in a better mind set this year. When I see all the tragic sad things that happen to people particularly on a global scale I tell myself how very lucky I am to be in the situation or country or life in general that I'm in. Sometimes that's hard to hold on to but I'm going to try really hard. I just want to love my boys and spend more time with them. I want to enjoy more time doing more 'things'. I want to craft. I want to enjoy earth more,-more sun, more nature, more water. I just want to feel more peaceful, maybe I'll take up yoga:)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It was so nice being at home with all three of us even though we did all did our own thing. I love my little family.<br />
<br />
Here's Jack showing off his stash from the Easter bunny. He has a funny little smile on his face because his mouth is full of chocolate...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
...the breakfast of champions.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-i8WGX80kSw4/UVfA3qh32KI/AAAAAAAAGLk/z-sui8icUno/s1600/DSC_0313.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-i8WGX80kSw4/UVfA3qh32KI/AAAAAAAAGLk/z-sui8icUno/s640/DSC_0313.JPG" width="428" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We did do something together on our days off. Our front entry area has been ignored lately and was looking terrible, overrun by weeds and grass. I had bought this set of 3 pots for an absolute bargain a few weeks ago from a second hand shop although they hadn't looked like they'd ever been used. So I decided to get a start the other day and went and started pulling out the grass. It wasn't long before Jack came out to see what I was doing and he started helping and then Owen came and joined the fun. So we cleared all the grass, moved the potted olive tree to around the side of the house, paved, potted up some plants, filled the rest in with pebbles and voila!! It looks really nice and neat. I put some solar spotlights in today so I'll have to wait until tonight to see how the look but I'm so pleased with it already.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zK65a23NdNs/UVfA6ubzCnI/AAAAAAAAGL0/O43O-YnnzUo/s1600/DSC_0321.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zK65a23NdNs/UVfA6ubzCnI/AAAAAAAAGL0/O43O-YnnzUo/s640/DSC_0321.JPG" width="428" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Also in my garden I have about a dozen of these broms flowering at the moment. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xht3-hp_-zc/UVfA7ucIZkI/AAAAAAAAGL8/R_tG5cuXRso/s1600/DSC_0333.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xht3-hp_-zc/UVfA7ucIZkI/AAAAAAAAGL8/R_tG5cuXRso/s640/DSC_0333.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
And out the back the bright red cannas are also in flower. I looks so exotic looking along the back yard to the pool. Makes me feel like I'm on vacation somewhere.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-E7yikt2rJkI/UVfA9mwoR2I/AAAAAAAAGME/cdtyG1r6F_I/s1600/DSC_0346.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-E7yikt2rJkI/UVfA9mwoR2I/AAAAAAAAGME/cdtyG1r6F_I/s640/DSC_0346.JPG" width="428" /></a></div>
<br />
Our herb garden is coming along nicely as well. Owen has cleared at the side and is going to build me another narrow bed on the other side to plant some more veges and things in. Guinea pig poo makes great fertilizer lol.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OsS60mJkIis/UVfBCpETnEI/AAAAAAAAGMU/AxdMIHASgCA/s1600/DSC_0357.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OsS60mJkIis/UVfBCpETnEI/AAAAAAAAGMU/AxdMIHASgCA/s640/DSC_0357.JPG" width="428" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And lastly hear is Coco saying farewell...actually she was yawning. Doesn't she look fierce...needs her teeth cleaned.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

We headed off to the Rocky Show yesterday. It was so much fun. I just love the show even though I don't go on the rides anymore. The noise and excitement is so cool.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Of course we all entered the baking and craft. The competition is dwindling which is a shame to see. It's one of the main reasons I enter. I think it would be such a shame if that section of the show dwindled out to nothing. I might have to wrangle and harass some friends into entering next year I think.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Jack and I did pretty well this year. Jack won first prize for his layered jar...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
and his Lego...<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
He also entered the muffins, iced cupcakes and decorated cake but didn't win in those categories. How cute is his little snowman with a mustache though. He also received a Highly Commended for his painting.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I won a few things too. I got third place (out of 3 entries lol) for my decorated cupcakes...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DWQSAnvL4q0/T9KXePi7PPI/AAAAAAAAGI0/oiWxF_7BYFg/s1600/DSC_0005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DWQSAnvL4q0/T9KXePi7PPI/AAAAAAAAGI0/oiWxF_7BYFg/s640/DSC_0005.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
First place for my Pumpkin Scones...thank to Flo Bjelke Petterson's fantastic <a href="http://www.abc.net.au/queensland/stories/s1143809.htm">recipe</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I also entered but didn't win in the scrapbooking and chocolate cake and I entered the fudge but forgot to check if I placed in that. Mind you getting to eat the leftover Salted Caramel Fudge is prize enough, yumm. Owen entered the Man of the House cake too but didn't place. Maybe next year...<br />
<br />
Here's Jack patting a smelly sheep at the petting zoo. He looks excited doesn't he. There was a baby llama and some adorable little baby sheep and goats though and some frizzle chickens which I love.<br />

<br />
Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Jack's face is an absolute classic!! He really did enjoy the ride though and went back for another ride later even though he looks absolutely petrified in the photo.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vgK1u2v7KMU/T9KaZNHLwjI/AAAAAAAAGKg/JBMDwdwarv4/s1600/img013b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vgK1u2v7KMU/T9KaZNHLwjI/AAAAAAAAGKg/JBMDwdwarv4/s640/img013b.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This was obviously the latest craze for the young ones this year at the show, there were about 4 of these. Jack was a little freaked out before it even started as there's hardly any air in at the beginning. I'm really claustrophobic so I felt uncomfortable just watching it. They inflate it with a garden leaf blower which is why Jack's hands are over his ears.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9YynrzENzBY/T9KaJlaRjMI/AAAAAAAAGKM/k6SGFI1T4kQ/s1600/DSC_0069.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9YynrzENzBY/T9KaJlaRjMI/AAAAAAAAGKM/k6SGFI1T4kQ/s640/DSC_0069.JPG" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
He was ok for a while but then started hammering on the side trying to get the attention of the ride attendant to get let out. You could see his little face in there mouthing "Help, help". He didn't want a second turn of that one.<br />
<br />

<br />
As I said it was a fantastic afternoon/night and we had an absolute blast. Ahhh show time, how I love thee :)<br />

Last Sunday we headed down to Brisbane. O had an appointment with an eye specialist and the nearest is down that way so we had our first exciting train trip!! Jack got a little wriggly towards the end of the 7-8 hour trip but he handled it pretty well really. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0r3I4kAKJ5o/T1wOId2LiiI/AAAAAAAAGGo/SJIGHHRzITs/s1600/421593_10150577235516498_711096497_9597682_129396027_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0r3I4kAKJ5o/T1wOId2LiiI/AAAAAAAAGGo/SJIGHHRzITs/s640/421593_10150577235516498_711096497_9597682_129396027_n.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><br />
We got a taxi to our hotel and checked in. We stayed at the <a href="http://www.grandchancellorhotels.com/au/brisbane/default-en.html">Hotel Grand Chancellor</a> which was quite nice. The view was really good. The hotel overlooks the Roma Street Parklands with the city and river beyond.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7-GudXN6Oys/T1wOOYXSJ_I/AAAAAAAAGHM/wO2LdBgeSPE/s1600/DSC_0007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7-GudXN6Oys/T1wOOYXSJ_I/AAAAAAAAGHM/wO2LdBgeSPE/s640/DSC_0007.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Jack had actually chosen where we were going to stay and this is why...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ai5DjQHxZKo/T1wOHHOiDdI/AAAAAAAAGGk/AATCxpYHsMQ/s1600/421278_10150578029111498_711096497_9600887_1162849419_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ai5DjQHxZKo/T1wOHHOiDdI/AAAAAAAAGGk/AATCxpYHsMQ/s640/421278_10150578029111498_711096497_9600887_1162849419_n.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
...the rooftop pool!! Of couse as soon as we checked in that is where he wanted to go so we went up and checked it out and then when Owen's brother Ian arrived we went up and O and Jack had a bit of a swim. Jack kept going between the warm spa and the cold pool.<br />
<br />
After the swim we headed down to the Queen Street Mall and had dinner at <a href="http://www.jojos.com.au/">Jo Jo's</a>. Interesting decor and interesting menu choices, lol. Such a mix of cuisines, steaks, oriental, italian...interesting. The meals were pretty good.<br />
<br />
On Monday we headed back down to the <a href="http://www.queenstreetmall.com.au/">Mall</a> for some breaky before having a little browse around the shops before Owen's appointment. The one shop I wanted to visit, <a href="http://www.lush.com.au/">Lush</a>, was closed for renovations. You can buy their stuff online but it's not the same as getting that olfactory overload of walking into the store. I LOVE their <a href="http://www.lush.com.au/shop/product/product/id/20/keyword/blue+skies/blue-skies-&-fluffy-white-clouds">blue skies and fluffy white clouds</a>. It is devine!! I do still have half a piece left from Christmas. <br />
<br />
After Owen's appointment we headed back to the Mall and Jack had a ball upstairs in the Myer centre at the kids arcade there and then we met up with O's brother and walked over to <a href="http://www.visitsouthbank.com.au/">Southbank</a>.<br />
<br />
First we went to the <a href="http://www.southbank.qm.qld.gov.au/">Brisbane Museum</a> and checked out all the interesting things they have there. Jack of course loved the dinosaur skeleton replicas and all of the animal displays. It's a very cool place to visit and I'd definitely recommend it particularly if you have kiddies.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-p-gkvzQnxbg/T1wOGVwc-BI/AAAAAAAAGGY/uti4mW_nlyQ/s1600/420566_10150579964596498_711096497_9609484_453090586_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-p-gkvzQnxbg/T1wOGVwc-BI/AAAAAAAAGGY/uti4mW_nlyQ/s640/420566_10150579964596498_711096497_9609484_453090586_n.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TwC_aSGPmXI/T1yMHun0l-I/AAAAAAAAGIc/6C0iddVvhQQ/s1600/DSC_0260.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TwC_aSGPmXI/T1yMHun0l-I/AAAAAAAAGIc/6C0iddVvhQQ/s640/DSC_0260.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><br />
After the Museum we went for a walk along Southbank. Jack absolutely love the water area. I tried to find a store that was still open to buy a towel so he could go in but everywhere had just closed so he just had to try not to get too wet. It was practically deserted when we were there.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-W3UaNectjWU/T1wOLF_LrkI/AAAAAAAAGHE/8FB6StjJ4Eg/s1600/426919_10150579907846498_711096497_9609229_859642667_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-W3UaNectjWU/T1wOLF_LrkI/AAAAAAAAGHE/8FB6StjJ4Eg/s640/426919_10150579907846498_711096497_9609229_859642667_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">We headed back towards the bridge along the rivers edge...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">and then Jack and I went up in the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheel_of_Brisbane">big wheel</a> to check out the sites.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CVyIhlVl208/T1wOFcfaxgI/AAAAAAAAGGU/UYDIWKa30JA/s1600/419933_10150579904146498_711096497_9609194_2052345632_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CVyIhlVl208/T1wOFcfaxgI/AAAAAAAAGGU/UYDIWKa30JA/s640/419933_10150579904146498_711096497_9609194_2052345632_n.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
For dinner we headed to <a href="http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/337/1428193/restaurant/Brisbane/South-Brisbane/Beastie-Burgers-South-Bank">Beastie Bugers</a>. O loves burgers! They were pretty damm good too, nice and juicy but the wedges with aioli were particularly yummo. It was great to be able to spend so much time with Ian while we were there.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8SXy_zaDrfQ/T1wOJxJqWcI/AAAAAAAAGG4/Q8UaxKSslrk/s1600/426532_10150579745401498_711096497_9608771_798801388_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8SXy_zaDrfQ/T1wOJxJqWcI/AAAAAAAAGG4/Q8UaxKSslrk/s640/426532_10150579745401498_711096497_9608771_798801388_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
The floods were a bit of an issue for the trip home. We were due to head back on the train but due to the flooding we had to be bus'ed the inland route up to Bundaberg and then the train the rest of the way to Rockhampton. It was a long long way home, 12 hours!! The staff of Queensland Rail were fantastic!! They were so friendly and apologetic and our meals were all complimentary all the way home which was a bonus. Jack was actually excited by the late arrival home because he got to stay up past midnight. We kept him home from school the next day but of course he wouldn't have nap!! I made him have some quiet time though.<br />
<br />
We have had a busy week to follow up the trip away too. Four parties this weekend!! Jack's mate Mitchell was the first party on Friday night, a disco party. The long week I think caught up with both Jack and I that night and we both had little melt downs but Jack tells me it was still the best party of the weekend.<br />
<br />
On Saturday we headed to the park to meet up with some of my family for little Bronwyn's 5th Birthday. The park on the riverside there is just the best place for kids. There are so many different swings and activities and things and a great track for scootering and good visibility so the parents can just sit back and see where their kids are.<br />
<br />
Here's Bronnie trying out her new skipping rope with a helping hand from her Grandma and Great Auntie Marie.<br />

And lastly a photo of my beautiful orchid which is blooming gloriously. This orchid was a gift from my Grandma so it's bloom at this time is extra special for me. xoxo<br />

She had been in hospital for the last couple of weeks and passed away surrounded by her family on Friday. I feel so blessed to have been Granddaughter to such a kind, gentle and generous woman and to have learnt so much from both her and my Grandad about so many things but particularly about love. They were so in love.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rLtgwUh8jHc/T04Z-g7AmLI/AAAAAAAAGFs/hAxYviIYc1g/s1600/28.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rLtgwUh8jHc/T04Z-g7AmLI/AAAAAAAAGFs/hAxYviIYc1g/s640/28.jpg" width="472" /></a></div><br />
They had met on a blind date set up by Grandma's best friend Mimi who was dating Grandad's brother Brian. Brian and Mimi were married as well and sadly were only parted when Mimi passed away last year.<br />
<br />
This is one of my all time favorite photos of Grandma and Grandad. They say a picture says a thousand words, this one says love, love, love...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8M8p3mQpUjU/T04aRji4OpI/AAAAAAAAGGE/-wFZuAS51xA/s1600/9.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8M8p3mQpUjU/T04aRji4OpI/AAAAAAAAGGE/-wFZuAS51xA/s640/9.JPG" width="444" /></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">My Mum, brother and I lived next door to my Grandparents until I was 11 so I spent a lot of time with my them. We used to have dinner with them quite regularly and actually we probably had breakfast there just about every morning because Grandma always cooked bacon. Even when we moved out to the farm I used to leave my bike at my Grandparents house so I still saw them nearly every day. I can always remember sitting at their table in the afternoon and when Grandad would call out as he walked down the driveway, "Loverboy's Home" and Grandma would giggle every time. It was beautiful. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I have so many beautiful memories of growing up and my favorites are all about family. My Grandparents have a beach house at Cooee Bay where all the families would spend every school holiday...lots and lots and lots of us. Our days were always the same, get up for breakfast, down to the beach for a swim, hanging out at the house, lunch, the little ones would nap and the older ones would read then back to the beach for another swim, dinner and dishes and then bed. We would all gather around the littlest ones beds and Grandma would tell us all stories before bed. My cousins and I all have the best memories of those story times.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">As I said before I have been truly blessed to have had such a fantastic Grandma</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sQv88K7kQ7U/T04aF_7TzqI/AAAAAAAAGF0/2gzhyN3_d6Y/s1600/25.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="434" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sQv88K7kQ7U/T04aF_7TzqI/AAAAAAAAGF0/2gzhyN3_d6Y/s640/25.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<br />

On Saturday morning I had morning tea with my friends Charlene and Ann. Ann has just moved back to town and bought a fantastic house so we got the grand tour and then kicked back for a catch up chat and coffee. I love those girls.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">On our way home we swung by and picked up Jack's mate Mitchell for a sleepover. They had a great weekend playing the Wii and swimming. It's so nice him having mates over. I feel for him as an only child, I know he feels lonely some times so as I said it's great for him to have time with his friends.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The boys and Coco tried out the new sofa bed. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kTpjxhPSx_Y/TzejxEI3wnI/AAAAAAAAGE8/DycM9s7KZHg/s1600/DSC_0049.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kTpjxhPSx_Y/TzejxEI3wnI/AAAAAAAAGE8/DycM9s7KZHg/s640/DSC_0049.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
This morning we had a lovely morning swim. The water is so nice in the morning with the sun sparkling off it. The boys had a fighting monsters game going on and were flipping and swimming all over the place, me well I sat back and had a lovely spa to start off the day. Ahhhhhhh. Here's some of their cool dives.<br />

This afternoon as Mitchell was leaving Jack's other mate, Jared came over for a play and then later this afternoon my Mum and my friend Kim came over so I have had a great time catching up with lots of people this weekend. My Grandma Jean has been in hospital since Thursday but she's getting a little better every day too which is great. She's a beautiful lady. <br />
Hope everyone has a great weekend too. Her husband obviously heard my overprotective hesitation in their side of the phone call and offered to let me tag along...as long as I didn't talk hahahahaha. Now I'm not really one for the wild wilderness (especially no toilets) but I hate the thought of my precious boy missing out on anything fun so we jumped at the chance.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Before we even got a block from their house I was told by the boys that the prediction was that I would scream and then cry like a girl (which was right about where my mindset was as well). Well...it was fun and I didn't cry or scream.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Before we hit the sandy part of the track we had to stop to let some air out of the tires. The boys each had a go at letting some air out and then we got ready to head off on the sandy track. Obviously the boys were very excited.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Bh_rT-BnWyQ/Ty-4u1hjrOI/AAAAAAAAGD8/SB9wC_PCS5c/s1600/DSC_0739.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Bh_rT-BnWyQ/Ty-4u1hjrOI/AAAAAAAAGD8/SB9wC_PCS5c/s640/DSC_0739.JPG" width="428" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">We headed down to 9 Mile Beach which is a beautiful piece of the world. Beautiful beach for miles and sand dunes for the kids to climb.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YLxe1vPC_ew/Ty-5dCwPm8I/AAAAAAAAGE0/DxuupMLltEU/s1600/DSC_0998.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YLxe1vPC_ew/Ty-5dCwPm8I/AAAAAAAAGE0/DxuupMLltEU/s640/DSC_0998.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">And climb they did...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-b7I5y2Ki8fA/Ty-41AIK_OI/AAAAAAAAGEE/-17AgrGvhcc/s1600/DSC_0759.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-b7I5y2Ki8fA/Ty-41AIK_OI/AAAAAAAAGEE/-17AgrGvhcc/s640/DSC_0759.JPG" width="428" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">There's a stream that comes from somewhere and winds it's way through the dunes down onto the beach. The water was lovely and cool, just great for splashing about.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WHRb5ACidmk/Ty-5CCV44eI/AAAAAAAAGEU/awdS10dEqZs/s1600/DSC_0839.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WHRb5ACidmk/Ty-5CCV44eI/AAAAAAAAGEU/awdS10dEqZs/s640/DSC_0839.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The dunes are so interesting. Check out the cool sediment lines along the edge of the dunes. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SzCpKvnieho/Ty-5O8aEdCI/AAAAAAAAGEk/BLCPom_Of1U/s1600/DSC_0898.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SzCpKvnieho/Ty-5O8aEdCI/AAAAAAAAGEk/BLCPom_Of1U/s1600/DSC_0898.JPG" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">And then back to more climbing and boy games on the dunes.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">And then a strip down for a rinse off before jumping back in the 4WD for the drive home.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">This is the beach we visited...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

The first day actually went better than I expected. I really thought we were going to have to drag him kicking and screaming after all those holiday but he actually wasn't too bad. He has since told me however that grade 2 is just as boring as grade 1 and that he thought they were going to learn cool stuff this year. He looks so cute in his uniform. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xfp6mRqAi28/TyPrLbhl4NI/AAAAAAAAGDM/tjWaMtBmd6c/s1600/DSC_0647.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xfp6mRqAi28/TyPrLbhl4NI/AAAAAAAAGDM/tjWaMtBmd6c/s640/DSC_0647.JPG" width="392" /></a></div><br />
Also I bought Coco her first doggie t-shirt this week. It was for Australia Day and says Aussie, Aussie Aussie, Woof Woof Woof on it which I thought was adorable. She didn't get to wear it Australia Day though because I worked and we didn't end up doing anything (I actually had a nanna nap on the lounge after work).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-C7vT7B4XFbA/TyPrWn2FTvI/AAAAAAAAGDU/-Bf7gmq_O0g/s1600/DSC_0653.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-C7vT7B4XFbA/TyPrWn2FTvI/AAAAAAAAGDU/-Bf7gmq_O0g/s640/DSC_0653.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
Mum & I had been laughing last week at some of the doggie clothes available on eBay such as <a href="http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/XS-Puppy-Dog-Hoodie-Jump-Suit-Red-Blue-Clothes-Apparel-/200693995709?pt=AU_Pet_Supplies&hash=item2eba4b58bd#ht_2570wt_1054">this</a> or <a href="http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/pet-dog-cat-cute-jumper-Sanitary-suit-clothing-ANY-size-/200648272914?pt=AU_Pet_Supplies&hash=item2eb791ac12">this</a> but after seeing how cute she looks in her t-shirt she may just end up with a few little outfits. <a href="http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dog-Puppy-Doggie-Pet-Size-1-Denim-Cool-Jeans-Suspender-/380398725458?pt=AU_Pet_Supplies&hash=item589187e952#ht_1875wt_1054">These denim overalls</a> are adorable and would look great with <a href="http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Pet-Cozy-Velcro-Boots-Booties-Dog-Zipper-Shoes-Clothes-Apparel-4-/110785261449?pt=AU_Pet_Supplies&hash=item19cb50ef89#ht_2860wt_1054">these little boots</a> and <a href="http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/260627094188?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649#ht_5172wt_1051">this coat</a> is on my eBay watch list.jodyghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07340437589040223832noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23894861.post-5626594657783693342012-01-22T15:12:00.001+10:002012-01-22T15:17:15.402+10:00Our gorgeous new puppy & a back to school BBQ<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>I have <i>sort</i> of been looking for a new puppy for a few months now. Jack was so keen to get another dog but it took me a little while to come to terms with it after losing our beautiful Bella but over the last couple of weeks I've been checking the pet adoption sites. I contacted <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/Capricorn-Animal-Aid/113919645684">Capricorn Animal Rescue</a>, who are a wonderful organization that save and re-home dogs from the pound, and Jack and I went and met a few small dogs but Coco was the one!! She was so friendly right from the start. We met her out the front of her foster home and she came and sat on my lap straight away and then went and jumped on Jack too. We went away to think about it but I knew straight away that she was going to be living with us. <br />
<br />
Owen picked her up on Monday and as soon as she came home she has just fit right in. Our kitty cats have taken a couple of days to get used to having a dog around but it's settled down now. Isn't she beautiful?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2mupCU66a8A/TxuFumCHHJI/AAAAAAAAGCM/la0Okp9gbJQ/s1600/DSC_0572.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2mupCU66a8A/TxuFumCHHJI/AAAAAAAAGCM/la0Okp9gbJQ/s640/DSC_0572.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
This is her first day home up lying on the lounge with O.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nEXyz3pDrGw/TxuG3pM6tUI/AAAAAAAAGCU/9OKBk-aaRzM/s1600/DSC_0576.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nEXyz3pDrGw/TxuG3pM6tUI/AAAAAAAAGCU/9OKBk-aaRzM/s640/DSC_0576.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
If anyone in the Central Queensland area is looking for a new pet I'd definitely recommend that you have a look at the beautiful animals that are available for adoption from <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/Capricorn-Animal-Aid/113919645684">Capricorn Animal Aid</a>. It's a great cause to support.<br />
<br />
Speaking of new to our home we have also got a new lounge suite this month!! O & I had been tossing up about getting a new lounge before Christmas and had decided against it...and then changed our minds for the hundredth time. I'm really happy we did though. The new lounge is a great size for our little house and it has storage in the ottoman and the chaise and a sofa bed under the main section so it added some storage as well. It's not as snuggly comfy as our old lounge but it's still really nice to sit in and looks nice and fresh and the colour is great for our place.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bbXYHg68fuc/TxuKYqJ7vCI/AAAAAAAAGDE/He552DNLFt0/s1600/DSC_0112.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bbXYHg68fuc/TxuKYqJ7vCI/AAAAAAAAGDE/He552DNLFt0/s640/DSC_0112.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
Jack is heading back to school tomorrow much to his disgust!! Lol, poor kid. He says school is "boring" and he misses his Mummy. I tried to tell him that if it would make it easier for him I could make home ultra-boring so school would seem more fun but he declined. So to celebrate the last days of holidays we had a BBQ last night with some of his school friends as a last holiday hoorah!<br />
<br />
It was a great day for a swim yesterday, nice and hot.<br />

It's so nice to catch up with friends and it's so hard to find the time with conflicting schedules and work rosters and things but I'm hoping this year to spend some more time with my friends.jodyghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07340437589040223832noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23894861.post-34946617288189328652012-01-09T22:55:00.000+10:002012-01-09T22:55:45.337+10:00Blogging in Twenty-Twelve...<span style="text-align: left;">It's been forever since I've blogged. Halloween way back in October. How slack have I been!? Honestly with everyone being on Facebook I've just been uploading photos there but it's not the same. It's so nice to be able to scroll back through a blog and reminisce. So this year I'm going to be better and I'm going to take more photos which Jack will hate!! He is so over having his photo taken by me.</span><br />
<span style="text-align: left;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: left;">So I'll go back to the beginning of December. After school finished for the year I had the first two weeks of the holidays off with my beautiful Jack. We did a few fun things...went to the movies, went to the Rockpool Water Park (which resulted in sunburn for both of us which I felt awful about), went to the beach and went to the Botanical Gardens for Jack's cousin Alyssa's birthday party. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Jack and Ally on the playground with Patrick.</div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3sit-lRF2Ho/TwrSFd2xYRI/AAAAAAAAGAU/68WgA4p1u4A/s1600/DSC_0068.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3sit-lRF2Ho/TwrSFd2xYRI/AAAAAAAAGAU/68WgA4p1u4A/s640/DSC_0068.JPG" width="640" /></a> And then Christmas!! This is part of my Department 56 Christmas village. It makes me :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CSO1OA43liQ/TwrR5CpngSI/AAAAAAAAGAM/B6k4u6Uc69A/s1600/DSC_0054.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CSO1OA43liQ/TwrR5CpngSI/AAAAAAAAGAM/B6k4u6Uc69A/s640/DSC_0054.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The days before Christmas is a flurry of activity. My Mumma came around to give me a hand with the cooking on the Friday before Christmas and then my Aunt Diane and Uncle Paul dropped around on Saturday. They got the dirty job of rolling the truffles. LOL, looks like hard work hey. This was taken at the end of the rolling too btw not during.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4l9WBpGnoQs/TwrYWnFKdnI/AAAAAAAAGB0/FIrNLZanPOY/s1600/383723_10150433562166498_711096497_9105135_164441545_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4l9WBpGnoQs/TwrYWnFKdnI/AAAAAAAAGB0/FIrNLZanPOY/s640/383723_10150433562166498_711096497_9105135_164441545_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
I made a couple of fudges, an Eggnog Fudge and a Salted Caramel Fudge which was to die for, yummo!! I also made a Cranberry Chilli Chutney. I don't cook alot of hot foods because I don't like to eat hot foods but after cutting up all the chillies for the chutney I remember the last time I cut up chilli and told myself not to forget to wear gloves, I forgot. Stirring the fudge for 8 minutes over the heat with chillified fingers is not fun, eating the leftover caramel fudge though made it worth it.<br />

Christmas Day was soooo nice this year. The last couple of years it's been hot and sticky and wet but this year was really pleasant with a nice breeze and nice and sunny. I normally am up very very late the few nights before Christmas running around like crazy trying to get everything done but this year I was pretty organised. I was up a bit late the night before Christmas though because I forgot that I had to make the pavlova and didn't remember until about 10.30 Christmas Eve. You know how it is when something happens like that things always seem to dcmino. So I remember that I have to make the pav, then I couldn't find any caster sugar so thank goodness for Google, I read that you could blitz normal sugar in a food processor instead. Being the middle of the night though I didn't want to wake up Jack with the noisy processor so at 11pm I'm on the floor in the bedroom huddled over my food processor blitzing up the sugar. I take my processed sugar out to the kitchen and then I can't find the cornflour!! So I'm pulling out half my pantry and what do I find...caster sugar of course but I also found the cornflour. Pav was done and baked by about 12.30 and I jumped in bed. I couldn't sleep!! When I last looked at the clock it was after 2am and then of course my beautiful son who normally sleeps until at least 7 was up at 5.30 in the morning!! I was fine though after a couple of coffees and the day was great. I think everyone had a good day.<br />
<br />
New Years Eve!! O and I took Jack to the Carnival near the PCYC. It's the first year they've had anything like this on in Rocky and it was great to have something fun for the kids to do. The last couple of years we've just spent it quietly at home so it was nice to have something to do. They had a few rides including a rock wall and the Hurricane!! I was very surprised that Jack wanted to go on. My baby is growing up I guess (sigh). I'm pretty sure O enjoyed himself as well.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mmsd5sAImr0/TwrYVYOHCkI/AAAAAAAAGBs/_A2BDWr0s40/s1600/373872_10150446492526498_711096497_9166416_901034493_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mmsd5sAImr0/TwrYVYOHCkI/AAAAAAAAGBs/_A2BDWr0s40/s640/373872_10150446492526498_711096497_9166416_901034493_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
On Boxing Day our friends the William's invited us to this beautiful beach down at Byfield (I'm pretty sure it's called Sandy Point) Again it was another great day, not too hot with a nice sea breeze. There were a few bugs around but otherwise it was perfect. <br />
<br />
The boys did a spot of fishing. I threw in a few lines too but there were no fish biting unfortunately or fortunately I guess as O and I are not the best at the whole fish from hook removal business.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0n4iueDkZig/TwrTJN6iQfI/AAAAAAAAGBE/MRnA0ld66pk/s1600/DSC_0245.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0n4iueDkZig/TwrTJN6iQfI/AAAAAAAAGBE/MRnA0ld66pk/s640/DSC_0245.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
Like father, like son.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-afe4r8OrIDU/TwrTiEBW26I/AAAAAAAAGBM/OioO6RQ2vnk/s1600/DSC_0262.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-afe4r8OrIDU/TwrTiEBW26I/AAAAAAAAGBM/OioO6RQ2vnk/s640/DSC_0262.JPG" width="428" /></a></div><br />
Don't you love Owen's pink fishing rod (it's mine of course). Looking good honey ;) With Owen working so many weekends it's hard to get time together to do fun things like this so it was a fantastic way to start off the New Year (thank goodness for an occasional actual public holiday!!)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-t17D7BkwtoA/TwrT69ezQ8I/AAAAAAAAGBU/k8hRspq3Mpk/s1600/DSC_0276.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="display: inline !important; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-t17D7BkwtoA/TwrT69ezQ8I/AAAAAAAAGBU/k8hRspq3Mpk/s640/DSC_0276.JPG" width="428" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Jack and Ollie decided that it would be safer to dig a hole to swim in since we had spotted a couple of jellyfish. They didn't have much success though but had fun trying. I even found a couple of sand dollars. I always look for them whenever I'm at the beach but they're pretty scarce around here.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-U9yx8TWu-6E/TwrUdk-N8UI/AAAAAAAAGBc/jxr_77t79LI/s1600/DSC_0294.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-U9yx8TWu-6E/TwrUdk-N8UI/AAAAAAAAGBc/jxr_77t79LI/s640/DSC_0294.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">So that's about the year so far. Jack is of course on holidays so he has been spending time with a number of my very generous, lovely friends and family which has been great for him to have kids to play with. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I'm looking forward to the new year and seeing what it brings with it!! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">And lastly a cool photo I took tonight of a cicada shedding it's skin. It was on the door of the guinea pig hutch when we went to put them to bed. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UadeKxYLLEM/TwrUkYnM1tI/AAAAAAAAGBk/CoQIOQT6Rak/s1600/DSC_0346.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UadeKxYLLEM/TwrUkYnM1tI/AAAAAAAAGBk/CoQIOQT6Rak/s640/DSC_0346.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Ciao!</div>jodyghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07340437589040223832noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23894861.post-16253323635831553722011-10-19T22:18:00.000+10:002011-10-19T22:18:18.138+10:00Boo...Halloween is coming So of course I've been doing a bit of Halloween decorating. At the front door we have a "Witches Parking" area with an umbrella witchy hanging from the roof.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-skAiiNvA_Z4/Tp606_Zx18I/AAAAAAAAF70/E1fqxRr4lbU/s1600/DSC_0034b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-skAiiNvA_Z4/Tp606_Zx18I/AAAAAAAAF70/E1fqxRr4lbU/s640/DSC_0034b.jpg" width="450" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I made a very eclectic wreath for the front door.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tkXIYzB8OuY/Tp61KhOfpFI/AAAAAAAAF78/sK0XcVfXPdQ/s1600/DSC_0040b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tkXIYzB8OuY/Tp61KhOfpFI/AAAAAAAAF78/sK0XcVfXPdQ/s640/DSC_0040b.jpg" width="450" /></a></div> And an arachnophobes nightmare of a front door. I've also lost my Halloween doorbell from last year, it's disappeared into the abyss of the spare room I think.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TDONRlpWeqE/Tp61UVoTQBI/AAAAAAAAF8E/2kncblLWnmY/s1600/DSC_0042b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TDONRlpWeqE/Tp61UVoTQBI/AAAAAAAAF8E/2kncblLWnmY/s640/DSC_0042b.jpg" width="450" /></a></div>Jack insisted on having the eyeballs back out the front in the birds nest. It's funny how kids like to have things exactly how they were previously. Jack takes a bit of convincing sometimes if I want to change something around.<br />

Gross and cool at the same time. I bet it is disgustingly sweet. I know it's a bit gross especially for kids but I couldn't resist.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

We were trying to decide what to do with it after the pool was put in. We had few ideas: a mini golf course, a succulent garden, a zen retreat, a built up vege patch but in the end we decided just to pave against the house and turf it so it can be multi purpose. We might put in one golf hole for some putting and it can be our croquet and bocce green. It's nice to have a bit of green out there. We've still need to decide what to plant against the fence and Owen is going to build a screen for around the air conditioners.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The clear out...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tIgCf2sCuFc/Toj5Fvmde_I/AAAAAAAAF6w/--D3J1g8q_A/s1600/DSC_0784.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tIgCf2sCuFc/Toj5Fvmde_I/AAAAAAAAF6w/--D3J1g8q_A/s640/DSC_0784.JPG" width="428" /></a></div><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div> Ta-da...the paving done.<br />

O laying the turf...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vGEVckCgvLk/Toj5hktgu3I/AAAAAAAAF7A/CIHC0aHw6zw/s1600/DSC_0805.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vGEVckCgvLk/Toj5hktgu3I/AAAAAAAAF7A/CIHC0aHw6zw/s640/DSC_0805.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div> ...nearly finished....<br />

Of course you have to water in the new lawn so Jack made the most of it and tromped down the turf at the same time...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rayR0SBFBUI/Toj594ILPPI/AAAAAAAAF7Q/cDYUNZCzHMk/s1600/DSC_0928.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rayR0SBFBUI/Toj594ILPPI/AAAAAAAAF7Q/cDYUNZCzHMk/s640/DSC_0928.JPG" width="428" /></a></div> The boys did a great job.<br />
<br />
On the last weekend of the holidays Jack had his mate Mitchell over for a sleep over. We headed to the Crazy Joker for a few hours before heading home. Jack had seen <a href="http://www.mistermaker.com/">Mr Maker</a> make these haunted castles so we had been saving our toilet paper rolls and Jack and Mitch each made one. Great way to occupy some time.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-twpqAj-DyDE/Toj6Gs6PyvI/AAAAAAAAF7U/Rhjq8wW6eBA/s1600/DSC_0961.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-twpqAj-DyDE/Toj6Gs6PyvI/AAAAAAAAF7U/Rhjq8wW6eBA/s640/DSC_0961.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
On Sunday morning the boys played Band Hero on the Wii. They were really getting into it too.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wijcdQFhAGg/Toj6cz0ZPOI/AAAAAAAAF7g/uLkMyLNWp1E/s1600/DSC_0978.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wijcdQFhAGg/Toj6cz0ZPOI/AAAAAAAAF7g/uLkMyLNWp1E/s640/DSC_0978.JPG" width="428" /></a></div><br />

We checked out the laws on the link at the council website, ordered a coop and some feeders and went to visit a breeder to check out her frizzle chickens which are the most adorable things. Their feather curve outward so the little chooks look like they've been caught in a windstorm, they are super cute. So anyway O was doing some research while we were waiting for the coop to be shipped and came across the 2006 council rules which state no chooks allowed for a block of our size!! So of course being the goody two shoes that I am instead of just pretending we hadn't seen it a got the chooks anyway I insisted that we ring to clarify with the council. Bad move :( Turns out that the 2006 rules still apply. The link that we had looked at was the new laws that are not in yet and are still under consideration so come the 31st of December we may or may not be able to have chooks. I'm hopeful that we will be able to since in Brisbane it's not a problem to have chooks on our block size. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">So of course Jack was very disappointed. We explained it all to him as best we could and he now is not very happy with the council. So then I thought maybe we could get a pair of quails instead but they are apparently classed as poultry as well and therefore are not allowed either. So what's the next best thing to keep in a coop....</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">...Fluffy and Caramel!! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-f26W_L1T12M/TnXVTUXg-nI/AAAAAAAAF6o/mBX6HEOxX04/s1600/DSC_0715.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-f26W_L1T12M/TnXVTUXg-nI/AAAAAAAAF6o/mBX6HEOxX04/s640/DSC_0715.JPG" width="428" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1uzYPLyN-XQ/TnXVaa5-gDI/AAAAAAAAF6s/cBBxMF-8Oug/s1600/DSC_0724.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1uzYPLyN-XQ/TnXVaa5-gDI/AAAAAAAAF6s/cBBxMF-8Oug/s640/DSC_0724.JPG" width="428" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>They are very cute. My brother and I had guinea pigs galore when we were kids. I figure even though they can't provide us with eggs at least they'll still eat our vege scraps. I had wanted to get fancy guinea pigs with the cool mullet hairstyles but Jack fell in love with Fluffy (the black and white one) and we wanted two around the same size/age and the only fancy one was a fair bit bigger. They are such adorable little things and are coping pretty well with being caught and kid handled by a 6 year old every couple of hours. I discovered this afternoon though a jellybean sized lump on the side of Caramels face so I really hope these guinea pigs arent' going to cost us a fortune in vet bills.<br />
<br />
Notice Jack's lip in the photo? We spent a couple of hours at the ER on Friday night. Jack was practicing his gymnastics swinging in between our dresser and the bed foot and lost his grip and face planted on the carpet. The scream definitely brought O and I running. He had put three teeth through his lip and split the gum behind one tooth and in front of the other so we thought we'd better get it checked out. It's healing up well, no need for stitches or anything and his teeth are ok luckily. He's had some bruising come out today both on and under his lip and also under his chin which is slightly swollen. Poor little bugger, it looks bloody painful.jodyghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07340437589040223832noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23894861.post-10660413661118667472011-08-13T20:58:00.000+10:002011-08-13T20:58:22.288+10:00Pizza!!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>Jack's little mate Jared is having a sleep over tonight. I had a great afternoon, they entertained themselves with the Wii and I was free to relax!! So tonight we've made pizza for dinner.<br />
<br />
Here are the boys making the dough. Jared was chief mixer and Jack was chief sifter.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FJQzIbOAfcs/TkZQu_TDnoI/AAAAAAAAF6E/dGRYWvjMWGc/s1600/DSC_0596.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FJQzIbOAfcs/TkZQu_TDnoI/AAAAAAAAF6E/dGRYWvjMWGc/s640/DSC_0596.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
Then they got down and dirty and kneaded the dough...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hcYjxoqILmk/TkZQ-rK6RRI/AAAAAAAAF6I/3WSuG7hHwgA/s1600/DSC_0598.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hcYjxoqILmk/TkZQ-rK6RRI/AAAAAAAAF6I/3WSuG7hHwgA/s640/DSC_0598.JPG" width="428" /></a></div><br />
They stretched it out to their desired shapes. Jack's was in the shaped of a bone.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-I2NMMXqVhZ0/TkZRPyyprcI/AAAAAAAAF6M/bGyY04wHZ40/s1600/DSC_0606.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-I2NMMXqVhZ0/TkZRPyyprcI/AAAAAAAAF6M/bGyY04wHZ40/s640/DSC_0606.JPG" width="428" /></a></div><br />
Applied their sauce of choice...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UYGb2luShow/TkZRjJkN7YI/AAAAAAAAF6Q/XElShElNkk8/s1600/DSC_0607.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UYGb2luShow/TkZRjJkN7YI/AAAAAAAAF6Q/XElShElNkk8/s640/DSC_0607.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
Added some bacon and cheese...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FuyRyts1NC0/TkZR1TfXFAI/AAAAAAAAF6U/Y3GCq_YT17g/s1600/DSC_0610.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FuyRyts1NC0/TkZR1TfXFAI/AAAAAAAAF6U/Y3GCq_YT17g/s640/DSC_0610.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
And viola!! Pizza!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7TvFv3ooAcE/TkZSMGvkQ6I/AAAAAAAAF6Y/QJMhEp_BJ1M/s1600/DSC_0615.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7TvFv3ooAcE/TkZSMGvkQ6I/AAAAAAAAF6Y/QJMhEp_BJ1M/s640/DSC_0615.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
Then the taste test...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-eZKkgTt6PQ4/TkZShKt-VtI/AAAAAAAAF6c/WvpQNB2B2-k/s1600/DSC_0616.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-eZKkgTt6PQ4/TkZShKt-VtI/AAAAAAAAF6c/WvpQNB2B2-k/s640/DSC_0616.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
Jared's hot cheese face. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-idXAE5G0abs/TkZS3iKnwcI/AAAAAAAAF6g/kbTOeEMf69M/s1600/DSC_0618.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-idXAE5G0abs/TkZS3iKnwcI/AAAAAAAAF6g/kbTOeEMf69M/s640/DSC_0618.JPG" width="428" /></a></div>jodyghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07340437589040223832noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23894861.post-48857204443553693672011-07-24T22:21:00.000+10:002011-07-24T22:21:30.202+10:00Birthdays and a new kitten in our household.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">We've had a busy weekend for birthdays this week. A joint birthday for Owen's niece and nephew on Friday, Emmy's 1st Birthday party on Saturday, Grandad Kev's birthday dinner Saturday night and then a BBQ dinner for another niece tonight.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Here's Grandad blowing out the candles on his cake for his 88th Birthday. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PIbUJDb_KYc/TiwIuvhMkAI/AAAAAAAAF50/CRX0HXmCfrY/s1600/DSC_0500.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PIbUJDb_KYc/TiwIuvhMkAI/AAAAAAAAF50/CRX0HXmCfrY/s640/DSC_0500.JPG" width="428" /></a></div><br />
Jack, Patrick and Ally lining up to help Emmy blow out the candle on her 1st Birthday cake. She was adorable grabbing little handfuls of smarties off the cake.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8I3B79bhlU0/TiwJImZ6kqI/AAAAAAAAF58/1-flBixeMzM/s1600/DSC_0479.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8I3B79bhlU0/TiwJImZ6kqI/AAAAAAAAF58/1-flBixeMzM/s640/DSC_0479.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">And last but not least here is our new kitten, Cappuccino. She's such a cutie. Kitti apparently disagrees but we're very much hoping that she'll get over it. At the moment there's just been lots of hissing and mewling. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Today I was feeling relieved that she was sick no longer and would be feeling no more pain but tonight I'm just feeling heart broken. I'm very much wishing that Jacks' suggestion to "think of happy kittens" was actually effective because all I can think of is the loss of her.<div> <div>I have a thousand thoughts but no words...</div><div><br />

I'm sure I've mentioned many times about the great childhood memories I have from holidays with my family at the beach house. When I say my family I don't just mean my Mum and my brother I mean FAMILY!! My Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins...lots of us all in one house, beds head to head around the sleep out. The best of times!! Ah, sweet memories.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">So this weekend the three of us went down with our friends the Williams's and the Bruckner's and my Grandparents and Aunt Jenny and Uncle Michael. It makes me feel so happy to have Jack spend time with other kids like that. I'm sure it was a different experience for him as well being around other kids for that amount of time.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">So we did some swimming...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ILNMerQ1iv4/TbaKPsvSgxI/AAAAAAAAF4U/Qe3nMcthUuY/s1600/DSC_0003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ILNMerQ1iv4/TbaKPsvSgxI/AAAAAAAAF4U/Qe3nMcthUuY/s640/DSC_0003.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />

The kids rode scooters and bikes...<br />
<br />

We ate fresh coconut...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_97NMJV1LlY/TbaNUaBTPTI/AAAAAAAAF5E/a6FgojmCqGY/s1600/DSC_0986.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_97NMJV1LlY/TbaNUaBTPTI/AAAAAAAAF5E/a6FgojmCqGY/s640/DSC_0986.JPG" width="428" /></a></div><br />
And we wore out sunscreen...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7F7K9zpUkog/TbaN2WrKFWI/AAAAAAAAF5I/4ss0IGn1VbQ/s1600/DSC_0989.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7F7K9zpUkog/TbaN2WrKFWI/AAAAAAAAF5I/4ss0IGn1VbQ/s640/DSC_0989.JPG" width="428" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: left;">Jack got so sick of me telling him to put on more sunscreen. He told me he couldn't wear five layers of sunscreen. He didn't get burned though, lucky he listened to his Mum.</div><div style="text-align: left;">It is sooooo relaxing down there. The fresh sea breeze, the sound of the ocean, the wind rustling the coconut leaves, the sand between your toes, the cool water splashing over your feet, the laughter of the kids, ahh bliss. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

He was a bit puzzled when I asked how the tooth fairy was going to get the tooth. We left her/he a note.<br />

Sometimes it feels like time just flies by. A big 6 year old already!! and some days with a big attitude to match but he is just awesome, a truly gorgeous little hunk of human. He was pretty excited about this birthday now that he knows all that a birthday brings and can understand the countdown to a birthday. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">He had a little bit of a sleep in on Sunday but as soon as he woke up he remembered that it was his birthday and wanted to open his gifts. It was a whole family affair, Jack, Owen & I and Kitti and Bella all sitting around on the floor of his room to see what he got. O & I got two kisses for the 2 things that he liked the most which were some Lego and a Wii game.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LbT1vg7RECI/TZrSGjReRLI/AAAAAAAAF3U/7C2qs8W6Nyk/s1600/DSC_0393.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LbT1vg7RECI/TZrSGjReRLI/AAAAAAAAF3U/7C2qs8W6Nyk/s640/DSC_0393.JPG" width="428" /></a></div><br />
He and Owen then headed off to one of his school friends parties for the morning while I finished up the prep for his Spongebob Pool Party.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tBFBVb1RxA4/TZrSMfHpe_I/AAAAAAAAF3Y/kKClR_6zSAI/s1600/DSC_0415.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tBFBVb1RxA4/TZrSMfHpe_I/AAAAAAAAF3Y/kKClR_6zSAI/s640/DSC_0415.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
I love this smile, so adorable and so joyful.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OQ-rfCEL16o/TZrSUkQl9aI/AAAAAAAAF3c/Yty9NkWr1TI/s1600/DSC_0416.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OQ-rfCEL16o/TZrSUkQl9aI/AAAAAAAAF3c/Yty9NkWr1TI/s640/DSC_0416.JPG" width="426" /></a></div><br />
Speaking of adorable, how cute is little Sofie's swimming costume. I want one!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fbo6ReICtTE/TZrSyu7yyyI/AAAAAAAAF3g/5W549Fxj1hQ/s1600/DSC_0417.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fbo6ReICtTE/TZrSyu7yyyI/AAAAAAAAF3g/5W549Fxj1hQ/s640/DSC_0417.JPG" width="428" /></a></div><br />
We had all sorts of yummy food but I really loved the way these turned out, Krabby Patty Cupcakes. I had seen them on Flickr while I was researching cake ideas. They are vanilla cupcakes with a brownie disc for the patty and some icing to represent the lettuce, mustard and tomato sauce. The others are just chocolate cupcakes with bright blue buttercream.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sV-KNRiaspA/TZrTaoz2AlI/AAAAAAAAF3k/lSa9A3-8AOk/s1600/DSC_0437.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sV-KNRiaspA/TZrTaoz2AlI/AAAAAAAAF3k/lSa9A3-8AOk/s640/DSC_0437.JPG" width="428" /></a></div><br />
To go with the Spongebob theme I had yellow cups with cute little cocktail straws and seahorse swizzle sticks which I got from a local wholesale place that were pretty economical and added a little extra to the decor. I bought a couple of inflatable palm trees and had Jack's Spongebob toys leaned against them and a few posters printed off the net and yellow & blue balloons for decorations and with the help of JG made some "jellyfish" from pink balloons and streamers. It looked nice and festive. I wish I had a little more time to add some streamers and things but as normal I bit off a little more than I could chew.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-D0CxryQvPKw/TZrhvV9_zxI/AAAAAAAAF4I/c85QkIjtJZU/s1600/DSC_0421.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-D0CxryQvPKw/TZrhvV9_zxI/AAAAAAAAF4I/c85QkIjtJZU/s640/DSC_0421.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">For games we had Pass the Parcel, a treasure hunt, a shark pinata, <a href="http://spongebob.net/party/games/pinthepants.htm">Pin the Square Pants on Spongebob</a> and a Krabby Patty Relay Race which was great. For the relay the kids had to race up and back the patio carrying a split bun on a spatula held in one hand that had an oven mit on. They did really well. There are so many great free printable things around on the internet and some great bargains on eBay as well. I bought some little Spongebob badges on eBay for little prizes and to go in the loot bags.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Here's Jack posing happily in front of his gift stash...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Hz0np1VgwTI/TZrTqgIfGnI/AAAAAAAAF3o/OIBpk9q6Hwo/s1600/DSC_0452.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; display: inline !important; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Hz0np1VgwTI/TZrTqgIfGnI/AAAAAAAAF3o/OIBpk9q6Hwo/s640/DSC_0452.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I was so glad that so many of our family and friends could come along to celebrate and grateful to have so many generations together too. I was also thankful for the help both getting ready and packing up as well, great family and friends are such a blessing.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Everyone gathered around the cake... </div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bsVGoZueUvI/TZrUIfl6cWI/AAAAAAAAF3s/BzfueZ3YXZA/s1600/DSC_0475.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bsVGoZueUvI/TZrUIfl6cWI/AAAAAAAAF3s/BzfueZ3YXZA/s640/DSC_0475.JPG" width="428" /></a></div><br />
All the kids wanted to eat the pineapple part but I had actually iced some shaped Styrofoam on top of a slab cake so they had to settle for a pineapple leaf and a slice of cake.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sgn4gCL5_wA/TZrUQQbZRsI/AAAAAAAAF3w/yhhcH1SpTOk/s1600/DSC_0479.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sgn4gCL5_wA/TZrUQQbZRsI/AAAAAAAAF3w/yhhcH1SpTOk/s640/DSC_0479.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
Jack had a great day, I was very pleased that he enjoyed himself so much. I was left a little frazzled by the end of the afternoon but that's nothing new, time management is not one of my strong points, lol.<br />
<br />
In other news...<br />

The school Disco was on Friday night. It was Bob the Builder/Construction themed so I whipped Jack up some paint splattered painters overalls from and old sheet. Note to self: ensure fabric is strong enough to withstand crazy dancing. LOL!! Luckily I had told Jack to wear shorts under the overalls because although I had triple stitched the crotch he managed to split his pants by the end of the night. He is a wild crazy dancer, it actually looks just like this photo...<br />

And then today was the school sports carnival. Owen and I are both sunburnt, Jack is fine however. He must have listened when told to re-apply sunscreen.<br />
<br />
He did really well this year. He came third in his sprint race.<br />

It's a long day but great to see the kids getting out there and giving everything a go. The younger grades are so cute to watch. <br />
Well I'd better go and put some more cream on my sunburn. Ciao :)jodyghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07340437589040223832noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23894861.post-28418716086833598332011-03-15T23:03:00.001+10:002011-03-15T23:05:16.774+10:00This sweet adorable face...<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Being a Mum can be a tough job. Jack has had a little difficulty adjusting to school this year and we have had lots of tears. Having to peel his little arms from around my waist in the morning at school is hard. We've also had some instances where he has been pushing his boundaries which I know is a normal way for a child of his age to act but he has always been such a well behaved little guy that I have found dealing with these circumstances quite difficult. As much as I know he doesn't mean it, it breaks my heart when he tells me that I'm the worst Mum ever and that I'm mean. Oh my does it hurt but this face, this cheeky little guy with those adorable freckles makes my heart feel so joyous. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I just love this photo even though he's munging out on a dixie drumstick at the time I just think it's adorable.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-KwootuLAlRE/TX9YGBA2S4I/AAAAAAAAF2s/7i_M2Zgkdv8/s1600/DSC_0003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-KwootuLAlRE/TX9YGBA2S4I/AAAAAAAAF2s/7i_M2Zgkdv8/s640/DSC_0003.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">It was my Grandma's birthday last week and we had a lovely family dinner at Rob & Marie's to celebrate. I love to see Jack have so much fun playing with his second cousins. It brings back great memories of all the family time I spent with my cousins.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">It's so funny how kids know that there's no way you can blow out a sparkler but they always have to have a go at it.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-pNn9SU4o4Eg/TX9YelRo58I/AAAAAAAAF2w/5oWvLm5WMto/s1600/DSC_0156.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="427" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-pNn9SU4o4Eg/TX9YelRo58I/AAAAAAAAF2w/5oWvLm5WMto/s640/DSC_0156.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Blow kids, blow...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">It's hard to get time for family get together s with the time pressures of life in modern times and so it's hard to get photos of family together too. I was so happy with these next to photos of my Mum with my brother and then with my niece Rasharna. I think they are both such lovely shots. I just love phots, lol.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">This is Jack's cousin Ally. They go to school together and were in the same class last year. He thinks she's pretty cool. He was so cute when I took the photo, he put his little arm around her. Adorable.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-PBXQJi2iolk/TX9ZRQYywlI/AAAAAAAAF3A/8CNH5KgU7hc/s1600/DSC_0183.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-PBXQJi2iolk/TX9ZRQYywlI/AAAAAAAAF3A/8CNH5KgU7hc/s640/DSC_0183.JPG" width="426" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">This cute little fella just hung out all night at the party. There was also a little possum visitor to the party too but I only managed to get a photo of it's butt.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-TcF2_n6Te8E/TX9ZeDB44gI/AAAAAAAAF3E/XlQ26D_9Dv4/s1600/DSC_0185.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-TcF2_n6Te8E/TX9ZeDB44gI/AAAAAAAAF3E/XlQ26D_9Dv4/s640/DSC_0185.JPG" width="428" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">We've had a jet-ski for years now and Owen used to go out pretty regularly before Jack was born but it hasn't been used in ages so Owen and one of his mates rosters coincided and the opportunity arose so they went down to the river on Sunday. Jack has been pretty eager to get out there too. I thought (sort of hoped) he'd be turned off by the murky water in the river but alas no, he jumped on.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-MmHp1q7Gk60/TX9ZtcGE8mI/AAAAAAAAF3I/fUd_Mves1nM/s1600/DSC_0288.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-MmHp1q7Gk60/TX9ZtcGE8mI/AAAAAAAAF3I/fUd_Mves1nM/s640/DSC_0288.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I thought they'd just putter around near the jetty but they headed out right down the river and around the corner. I should have taken binoculars so I could tell who was on which ski.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-GWNzi0aPgCs/TX9Z7ymp8zI/AAAAAAAAF3M/kuwMaupTGls/s1600/DSC_0299.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-GWNzi0aPgCs/TX9Z7ymp8zI/AAAAAAAAF3M/kuwMaupTGls/s640/DSC_0299.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">When he came back to shore he was so excited to tell me that they'd gone a 5 and a 7! 57 MILES PER HOUR!! What a little speed demon! It is fun out on the ski. I much prefer it at the beach though where the water isn't so murky and there's not a sign telling you not to swim because of the crocodiles in the area. I think I'll be pretty hard pressed getting a turn now though, now that Jack's had his first taste.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
