Random Things I Thought I'd Share...

This is going to be just a random wacky post so feel free to skip if you'd like, with a dead camera it's been ages since I've posted so I just thought I'd post to keep my poor blog alive!!
I just painted my toenails!! See, I told you this would be random and probably uninteresting but the thing is this, I used to paint my toenails all the time pre-Jack and I think in the last 4 years I have probably only painted them 4 times. This is no fault of Jack's of course it's just one of those things that I havn't done. So anyhoo, yesterday at work I was skimming a magazine and there was an article about Nicole Richie and family and her toenails looked so pretty so today I've painted mine in my old favourite shade of Witchy Poo. It's a dark dark dark purple, almost black and it is sooooooooo old but it makes me feel like me iykwim. Speaking of Nicole Richie, isn't she such a stylish girl, I love her style and I love her hair colour, and when they called their little girl Harlow I was a bit ho-hum about it but now I really like the name. Anyhoo... Next point of randomness...I am soooooooooo glad I got married as long ago as I did for a variety of reasons. I mean, I have a great husband whom I LOVE and who I know loves me right back and we have a beautiful son but the point of this note is this...Image by Yvonne Wong
...how cute are these for bonboneries?!?!, little bottle of smoked paprika and it doubles as a placecard holder. See, if I was getting married now, since I discovered this site, Style Me Pretty, there is no way I could decide what to have for my wedding. I've talked about this site before but seriously, if you'd like a dose of dreamy beauty then head on over. So many colour combos, cake designs, stationary ideas, bouquets and boutonnieres, dresses!!! ohhhhhhhhh the dresses, just pure beauty and craftiness and talented people with beautiful ideas.

And speaking of beautiful things, I would love to make jewellery. Things like this...

...!! I love trawling through Etsy looking at all the designs. Again, bunches and bunches of super talented people.

Our cat, Kitti-Mae...
...she's been rubbing herself on me, demanding more biscuits while I've been typing this. She is a funny cat, personality wise. She came to us in an unusual way. We had recently lost one of our cat's, Rachie and our other cat, the beautiful Miss Ophelia, had just had kittens. We were sitting in the lounge room one night with a friend of ours and I could hear this little meowing coming from the front door. I opened it to investigate and in runs this little kitten, probably about 10 weeks old. We did a leaflet drop in our neighbourhood but the only response was from one of our neighbours saying that the neighbour over the back of our place had a cat who'd recently had kittens and he had said it wasn't his. So, like every other stray that comes our way, she stayed. As I said before she is a bit of a funny character, sort of like she has multiple personalities in fact LOL. When she wants attention and a pat then she wants attention and a pat, she's quite insistant but if she dosn't want you around her she'll definately let you know. She drools, always has, when she purrs. She meows like crazy until she gets what she wants. She sits in the middle of the road when we come home, like she knows we wouldn't run her over, and then slowly slowly moves out of the way. She has so many annoying habits but she is our cat and we do love her, in a frustrated controlled by a cat sort of way ROFL. She's always had a bit of a wicked side. It's funny though, she was always very stand offish with Jack whereas Ophelia just loved him and would put up with anything to be near him but after Ophelia passed away she changed. It was like she took up where Miss Pheli left off. She is very tolerant of him and likes to be around him quite a lot now. It was a very wierd turnaround.

Top Chef!!! OMG I LOVE this show!!! Reality TV and cooking, 2 of my favourite things mixed together, what's not to love. I wish I could cook like these people!! It dosn't air in Australia though unfortunately but Season 5 has just finished in America and already I'm watching it for the second time!! I have watched every season twice over that's how much I love it. Chef's make such good reality TV, they are full of passion. Tonight I'm actually going to make Fabio's Roast Chicken for dinner. There have been so many fantastic contestants but one of my favourites would have to be Richard Blais. My friend Charlene comes over on Monday's for lunch and I've made a few of the recipes from the show.
Well, I gotta go. We're out of milk and Jack needs some which apparently means it's the end of the world. Catch u on the flipside.
Ciao

p.s. on the camera front, it's packed ready to go off for repair and has been for weeks I just havn't gotten around to it which is very surprising since I use it daily, slack arse, that's me.

Love this post Jody. you must be dying without your camera, hope it's not gone too long.
I so hear you on the toe nail polish. Before I had kids my toenails were ALWAYS polished but now? no time. Well I have time to do the painting but not time for the drying, IYKWIM. At any time I have attempted it, it has been smudged before I have been able to get it dry. Poo
Agree on Nicole Ritchie too. Best thing she ever did was dump that skanky Paris (and have a baby)
cheers Jody
