Boxing Day

I woke up this morning to see my gorgeous little man standing beside my bed just grinning at me. He had ended up in our bed last night after a big screaming fit and I really don't know how long he'd been up for but it can't have been long because our house wasn't trashed when we got up. We had pancakes for breaky and then we just played for a while with Jack, got dressed and headed down to the beach.

We called in to see my Dad and his wife at their little property just out of Yeppoon and you should have seen Jack's face when he saw the cows. It was priceless. He even got to feed one very friendly one named Molly and their next door neighbour even had lama's. Very exciting. It's a nice little probperty there actually, they have a nice little watering hole down the back paddock with beautiful waterlillies.

Then we headed over to the beachhouse for a late lunch, an ice cream and a bit of a paddle in the water. We got some fabulous photos, check em out...

Our Christmas!!

Well, our Christmas went well. Busy, noisy, messy but great. I had some fantastic help from some family memebers to help get everything ready. My aunt Marie came over to tidy up and mopped my floors and helped out so much. Her hubby uncle Robbie came and helped with the undercoat in the theatre room. My aunt Fay came over and weeded our yard and my Mum came and kept Jack occupied for hours and bathed him for us. I was so grateful for their help as Owen had woken up with a ripper of a migraine so I had to do the last of the plastering, sanding and door edges and skirting myself. Arrrrrrrrggggghhhhh!! All's well that ends well though and the room was at least undercoated. Owen is nearly wetting his pants in anticipation of getting the screen up but the top coats have to be done first. So Owen & I got to bed at about 2am.

CHRISTMAS DAY
I woke up at six and just couldn't get back to sleep but I stayed in bed until seven. Did a few last minute things, washed my hair/cleaned the shower etc. then Jack woke up at about eight. We hadn't wrapped his tricycle due to the awkwardness of it but you should have seen his bleary little eyes light up when he saw it. "Motorbike!!" He loved it so much he didn't want to open anything else. Grandma Hamo came over at about nine and then everyone else started arriving. Lunch went well but there were heaps of leftovers as per normal. Jack had a fabulous time playing with his 2nd cousin Patrick but wasn't very interested in opening his pressies. It was a very full house for a while there. Everyone was gone by about four and then Owen and I settled in for a quiet night at home. Jack hadn't had a nap all day so he fell asleep watching Wiggles within about five minutes. Poor little fella. Anyhoo, a great time was had by all. I got some great photos which I can't wait to scrap. It was so nice to see everyone it's just a shame I couldn't have spent a bit more time chatting.

the rest of the photos...

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!

Every morning I turn the computer on and up pops messenger with Brazen's Christmas countdown and the panic sets in. Sooooooo much to do so little time. So what are you doing blogging I hear you say. Well I hate going to blogs and there's no updates but since I don't have time I'll just load up some photos instead. So here they are: the Christmas to do list on the fridge (note only one thing is crossed off so far), the new photo wall (photos were moved to accomodate new mirror), DH & Jack in their building gear, the new mirror (photo taken very side on to hide my very messy lounge room), the very unfinished looking media room which is meant to host the gift giving on Christmas day (aaaaarrrrrggggghhhhh), my gorgeous boy with his new haircut, the new twin recliner which is currently jammed in our lounge room (the cats are happy though obviously) waiting for the room to be finished.

Oh What a Night!!

I just broke down (insert very sad & scared smiley here). Owen's Dad is in Tasmania at the moment and we're going over to feed his dogs and tonight it's been a bit rainy and pretty blowy so I procrastinated about it for a while and then decided that I'd better go and lock them inside the house in case we got a downpour since there's not much hidey space for them. Now, if you knew me you'd probably be aware that I'm afraid of the dark, some times quite more than others. Owen's Dad's house is a 2 story and quite frankly the thought of traipsing around there, fumbling for light switches scared the absolute bejesus out of me but I know I wouldn't have been able to sleep if I didn't go. So of I trot and I was very very very brave. I even ventured into the unlit backyard with my pissy excuse for a torch to scout around for a food bowl. Then I backed out of the house, quickly, locked it all up, got in my car, quickly locked the doors whilst simultaneously checking the backseat for men with knives and then NOTHING!!! A flat battery!!! Aaaaaaaarrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhh!!!!! Of course I had my trusty mobile phone so I rang Owen on the verge of hysteria and he phoned our friend Ben (my knight in a blue Mercedes) and he came and jump started the car. I was in tears by the time I got home, up until then I had been pretty brave (didn't want Bed to see my freak out). It sucked!!!!! It was my fault, well our battery must be a bit dodgy as well I guess, but I had left the lights on high beam when I went into the house so I could see the locks at the front door. Anyhoo, it sucked, big time, freaked me out and now I feel all jumpy and scared.
On a brighter note, I hosted my sex toy party tonight. That was fun. It's one of the girl from works birthday today so it was sort of a two in one. It ended early but I think everyone enjoyed themselves.
I might even try to get some scrapping done tomorrow, or maybe get my Christmas cards done. I bought the New Idea a few weeks ago because it had a voucher to get 30 free photos from Harvey Norman and do you think I can find the damm thing. I'm sure it's around here somewhere but my house is a shambles. I can't wait until the media room and laundry/scrap room are finished so I can get some stuff sorted.
We're going to Amber's first Birthday party tomorrow which should be good. Jack will really enjoy running around with Sam and the kids from next door. Plus they have a trampoline which I'm sure he'll love as well.
Congratulations to...

Thanks Dee & Deanne for thinking that I 'might' be capable of having a house like that but alas no. The pictures are from the Wattyl website.

I've finished my design for our Christmas card and went and a sample printed today. I'm really happy with it. It just needs a little tweek and it'll be done. I ordered some personalised stamps today as well. I also have lists galore to try and get a bit organised with regards to Christmas this year as although I LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas and am really excited to be hosting it this year I do have a tendency to over cater and stress when it's not necessary.

I went to start my Christmas shopping today. I have bought a couple of things earlier for my mum and stuff but today I had planned to get into it. My plan didn't quite work. I decided to do the vacumming before I went and I had a few dishes to do and then decided maybe I should do a quick nap and I had to check an address on the net and by then it was time for Jack's nap so we didn't even leave the house until 4. I had to go to the bank to get some money out and organise a cheque and stuff and by the time we got out of the bank it was 4.28pm. I had wanted to get Jack's photo taken but they closed up at 4.30pm. Grrrrrrr. So, I got half of one present. Not much of a dent really but anyhoo.

We've got a bit of a weekend coming up. Tomorrow night after work we've got Jack's DC Christmas party. I've got to bake some cookies tonight before bed. On Saturday morning I'm going to get my haircut which I'm really excited about. I'm going to one of the girls I work with's hairdresser and I'm going to let her do whatever but just keep a bit of length. My hair currently is brown and boring. Just a long straight boring do. Unfortunately they can't fit me in for a colour but I might be able to work something out myself. One of out friends Ben is coming over to help Owen finish off the wall for the theatre room so hopefully they'll get that done this weekend and then we can get started fitting out the laundry (my new scrap space) and paint and stuff. Should be good. Saturday night is the Fire in the Sky fireworks display so we'll probably take Jack but we havn't yet decided. Then on Sunday morning Mum, Grandma, Magda, Jack and I are going to the markets a Callipe. It's the last one for the year and is probably the biggest one in our area all year.

Jack has been such a good boy lately but he's turned into and absolute Wiggles addict. He'd hardly gotten out of bed this morning and straight away wanted the Wiggles turned on. He comprehends everything!! He definately understands the naughty mat and he's really good at staying put when you put him there and then when he gets off he gives you a hug. He says no worries which I say all the time without knowing it but it sounds so cute. He's getting sooooo good at going down for a nap during the day and he's normally pretty good at going to bed a night. If Owen gets involved in the night time routine however it puts everything out which is bad for me because it means Owen can't put him to bed at night. We're thinking of getting him a bed but I really think we need to make sure he can go to bed properly first. He loves reading books at bedtime though. We've been reading The Night Before Christmas for the last week and he loves it.

Scrap wise I've done nothing but shop!! I've got paper galore but no time to do anything. I'm nearly finished my SS gift for EB which I'm a little nervous about. I guess I can only do the best I can do right. I think it's going to look good though. I bought some great stuff from KSK today since they had 50% off all their ribbons.

Well I better sign off. I've got to go bake those cookies and wash my work clothes.

BFN, oh here's some pics.

How cute is this reindeer photo

The new tiles

Our house

I thought I'd go into a bit more detail about what we're doing since I've been MIA a bit lately. We pulled up the carpet/lino in the lounge, dining, kitchen and hallway and have had tiles put down. We're replacing all the skirting in said areas as well and get a new flat bullnose skirting which I think looks really good. I did all the cutting and everything for the skirting and it dosn't look too bad at all. The carpets in the bedrooms are being replaced as well which is happening on Monday which means we'll probably be sleeping in the lounge room on Sunday night since Owen has a meeting first thing Monday morning. The carpet is a beige sort of colour and is just a straight cut pile which is going to make a huge difference. Bye bye ugly grey carpets!! In the garage which had been used all these years as a big dump zone we are building a wall the seperate the laundry off and will be incorporating a bit of a desk work area for my scrapping with some shelves and things for storage. It should be good, a bit closed off maybe but I can always work at the kitchen table as well. The other end of the garage which is only about 3 x 4.5metres is going to be a home theatre room. We have had the whole area tiled and have a sliding glass door on order. We are going to paint the back wall (behind the screen) a colour called Espresso Syrup and the other walls a colour called Spun Toffee. We already have the Espresso Syrup colour in our normal lounge room as a feature wall behind the TV. We bought a twin recliner in a dark brown colour and the most gorgeous rug that will probably nearly cover the entire floor but that will be good for sound. We can only fit seating for two in there but I've got some cute suede footstools in a co-ordinating colour for other people to sit on.
A few people have asked if we've won the lotto but we just decided to do everything at once and get all the reno's over with. It just happened to co-incide with Owen buying his bike.
I can't wait for it all to be finished though. I've got junk everywhere. Owen is off this weekend as well as next weekend so we're hoping to at least start on the wall this weekend, the bedrooms will be carpeted and then re-organised next week and then the following weekend we can put up all the Christmas lights!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YAAY for Christmas!!! I really think Jack's going to enjoy it this year especially all the lights and things. And quite a few of our family are coming home for Christmas this year which will be great and we're hosting this year as well since we have air-conditioning so we don't have to pack and drive around everywhere. I'm just going to hire a couple of trestle tables and some chairs but it's going to be a bit of a squeeze. Then early in the new year my cousins, Julie, Karen and Lisa are coming up for a week with all their little ones and are going to stay at the beach house so Jack and I might go down for a couple of days as well so we can have a good catch up.
It's all very exciting.
Anyhoo, I'd better choof off.

Amanda's Challenge

Ok, I know I'd posted Beyonce but then I was blog browsing and saw Leenie's Robbie clip and I had to change mine. He's a cheeky lad that Robbie:)

Oh no not Denny!!

Did you see Grey's Anatomy tonight??? How sad was that I ask you? I mean you knew it was coming right. As if Izzy would get to be married and live happily ever after but it's just so unfair. Arrrrrrrrrggggghhhhh!! And he had just the cutest smile. The writers of this show are just fabulous. And bloody Meredith and McDreamy, what the?? Well I knew that was going to happen as well really but girlfriend, you'd better go find yourself an nice unmarried man!!! I was in tears and then had to go and tell Owen what had happened in between sobs. :P

Busy, busy, busy

Man, there just dosn't seem to be enough hours in the day lately!! Or maybe I just need to learn to prioritise a bit better. I just seem to have no spare time lately which sucks because I have all these great scrap supplies to use.
My house has been driving me CRAZY lately. Everything seems to be getting on top of me. I really wish Jack would just find one TV show that he'll veg out in front of in the morning so that I can run around and tidy up a bit. I thought as he got older he'd learn to occupy himself for periods of the day playing with things which he sort of does I guess. I dunno... He just seems to want all my attention all the time. I'm a bit worried that he's getting too clingy with Owen and I. Especially with Owen when he's at home.
On Saturday night I went to Hog's Breath for my cousin's fiance's Hen's party. It was a nice night. There was the funniest woman sitting at our table. She told some really great stories. I even had a coctail.
And then on Sunday, I had plans with my Mum. She's phoned my up to see if I wanted to go to the Emu Park markets since she wasn't working so I dropped Owen off to work and then went and picked her up. It's a half hour drive to Emu Park from Rocky so we had a great chat on the way down. We got there and there's no markets. They were on last week. LOL. My Mum has a habit of doing things like that. I would laugh but apparently you'll have no luck laughing at your mother or so she tells me. Anyhoo, we had a great day. We checked out some display homes in the new estates, drove around a bit, checked out some shops, had lunch. It was really nice. I should try to spend more time with her.
Sunday night we went to Kim and David's for a BBQ dinner at their new house. It was a lovely night with all the little ones running around playing together. They were all really well behaved.
I went and ordered my tiles today so that's one thing finalised now. I went and had a look at the photos I got done through Masterpiece Studios. I bought the large one and got a small complimentary one as well. They were really nice photos but all the shots were very similar. That's okay though, at least it saved me some money. This afternoon I met Kim and Jared at the pool and we all had a little swim although it was freezing cold with the breeze and then the boys played on the slide. It was great to meet up with her I was feeling a bit down in the dumps today. Tonight I went to a buying night for work so that was pretty fun. Saw lots of gorgeous things.
Well, I really should get to bed. We've given Jack a pillow in his cot tonight to see if that helps to get him to stay in his own bed instead of ours. Here's a digi scrap I did today.

A couple of gorgeous blokes!!

My cousin Julie and her husband Steve welcomed their first born to the world on Sunday, Lachlan James. He's just gorgeous and Julie sounds so happy and relaxed. Steve's been a good father and posted heaps of photos already so I've been cluck, cluck, clucking at my computer screen. Awwwwww, babies are just soooooo adorable. Here's a piccy. Isn't he gorgous? Cluck, cluck, cluck.

And here's a photo of our little man enjoying a tim tam (am I a bad mother?) and some milk. He is just so damm handsome. I can just tell he's going to be such a heartbreaker when he gets older. He's been such a funny little thing lately. He's starting to chat like crazy and he's picked up so many words. Sometimes when I'm hold him he wraps his little arms around my neck and says 'cuddle'. He is just so precious. It makes me all teary just thinking about it. Mwah to my gorgeous boy. Mummy love you.

Hmmmm, what else, what else...

I made it through to the fourth round of Embellished Idol. Very exciting. I really wasn't sure whether I would or not. I found the minimalistic LO so hard to do. I made a bit of a boo boo on the dymo tape journalling but it's easy fixed. The competition sure is hotting up. Some of the work is phenomenal. I'm gobsmacked to still be in. Here's a link if anyone wants to check it out- http://www.embellished.com.au/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=3655&cat=668

My man has been ebay shopping and you won't believe what he's bought. Let me just start off by saying that our house is small. I mean it's not like we live in a one bedroom or anything but it's not very big really. We're converting the garage into a home theatre room which is great but it's a single garage width and the laundry is at one end so it is probably a length of ten paces from one end to the next but Owen just likes gadgets and remotes so he's gone and bought and automated curtain system. He's such a cutie though.

What else, what else. I had a great day at work yesterday. I re-made quite a few bedroom suites with some new linen. I realise that for some people making beds sounds like such a chore but even just typing about it I get a little heart flutter. I really love the new Sheridan Junior range. I made up a couple of beds in these designs...

http://www.sheridan.com.au/product.asp?Product=31
I really want to get the boardshorts quilt cover for Jack. I was tossing up between that one and a surferboy covelet and I ended up buying the coverlet but now that I've seen it out with the gingham sheets I want it. I should add that I'm not even really thinking of putting him in a bed for another six months or so although Owen's pushing for it though.

Anyhoo, I really should go. I've started sugar soaping walls today because my house is just driving me insane at the moment. I can't wait until our new carpet and tiles are in. I should be cleaning the stove while Jack's asleep so I better choof off. bfn.

A couple of things

I went scrap shopping today with my voucher!! I got so many things and of course I spent all my money. I got some iron on fuzzy letters, a few different monograms, some groovy brads for christmas, some inks, some flowers, a stack of cardstock, some pp's, some rubbons. A real variety of things actually. Luckily Jack slept the whole time I was there which made a nice change. Usually I sit him on the floor and he empties the contents of my wallet just so I can have 2 seconds to check out what's new.
Also I took a photo of the new necklace I bought the other day while I was out shopping with my Mum. I'm really funny with jewellery. I love to buy it but then I never wear it. I'm so envious when I see people wearing all this gorgeous jewellery but I always think I look a bit silly in it. Tomorrow I'm hosting my Gekho jewellery party so I'm sure I'll fine some gorgeous piece to add to my collection of never worn jewellery.
I went to a sex toy party today at a friends place. It was great fun. I only knew one other person there but all the ladies were so nice. It was great for a laugh. It was very relaxed and the girl who does that parties was really friendly and perfect for her job. Anyhoo, I booked a party since all my work mates have been bugging me to have one so if anyone wants to come just let me know :P
Another photo to show tonight. Keeping up Amanda's idea here's my new dining table centre piece. I was out shopping the other day and saw all sorts of variations of this everywhere and just loved the look so now I have one. I think I've picked our tiles as well. They one's I'm leaning towards are white and glossy with a slight greyish marble to them. Actually if anyone reads this that has plain white tiles can you please leave a message to let me know if your happy with them. I really wanted to stear clear of the grey but the salesman said that stark white looks too much. Love to hear what anyone thinks about that.
Anyhoo, going to trawl the internet for a while and then head off to bed. I've got a bit of cooking and some last minute cleaning to do tomorrow.

Some new things about the place!!!

Well, we're having a few changes around our house and everything just seems to be go all at once. I ordered our recliner theate lounge today. I decided to go with the raisin colour which I think will be really nice, it's dark brown. I also lay-by'd a rug from work. It's a bit more than I wanted to spend but it's just sooooo nice that I couldn't resist. It has squares of different browns and creams and it sort of looks like dreadlocks. It's really thick and cushy and I think Jack is just going to LOVE squishing things into it but now that I've seen it I think if I get anything else I'll be really dissappointed. Owen got the new TV today, don't ask me what type it is but it's on a swivel base. How dumb do I sound? but I havn't even really watched it properly yet. I still havn't picked tiles. I paid off the quilt cover I had on layby and bought some new towels, Owen bought the air-cons and they're being fitted on Wednesday next week which is the same day the pest guy comes to make sure our temites are d-e-a-d.
It was my birthday yesterday and Owen got me a $100 gift voucher from Scrappy Days. That's going to be fun to spend.
Anyhoo, I think I might just take myself of to bed. I have to go shopping tomorrow to get supplies for the jewellery party I'm hosting on Sunday and then i'm going to Mag's tomorrow for her party plan party.

And now for those pictures I was blogging about

grrrr, computers.

Well, well, well

I know, I know. My posts lately have been few and far between. I've havn't felt myself lately and I've got a bit of a flue and been a bit busy and blah, blah, blah. So here's what's new-

Owen got a motorbike!! Very exciting and just a little worriesome. He still has to get his licence and well, learn to ride but hey all in good time. He took me to have a look through the shop window the night before he bought it and me being the girl that I am exclaimed, 'Wow, I've got a nail polish just that colour'. He's been up and down our street on it a few times (the first couple were a wee bit wobbly) but he's getting much better.

Jack's button!! Well he still has it... I think... I havn't seen it yet and quite frankly I a bit over squishing through poo for a button. Rach, you cracked me up with your question about whether it was for a special LO.

Work!! Been good, apart from the huge screaming argument I had with a customer. Whoops...well she was doing most of the yelling anyway. My boss told me in future just to let him piss the customers off. Anyhoo, lots of gorgous new stock coming in. My current favourite is this one...Salsa by Linen House. I love the pink polka dots on the back of the quilt cover. V. cute.

Scrappin- I've done a couple of pages + some stuff for the Embellished Idol comp. I'm through to the second round which is pretty exciting. My works pretty plain at the moment. Not much embellishment going on. Here's a couple of pages. Rach also asked about my submission attempt. Thanks for asking mate but I got a rejection. I'm okay with that though, it wasn't my favourite LO anyways. I might submit some more stuff soon if I see any calls come up that suit. I'm doing Elsie's 52 week challenge on EB which is going to be great fun and something a bit different.

Coming up- Owen's brother arrives in town tomorrow for a week so it'll be fantastic to catch up with him. Mum's birthday tomorrow and mine on Thursday so we're planning some mother daughter time in the next couple of days. Dinner at Mum's tomorrow night and then we're going shopping on Thursday which should be fun. Saturday I'm going to a friends place for an.. ehem, how should I put it, adult toy party?!?! I don't think I'll know many people though so it might be a bit awkward. Sunday I'm hosting my Gekho jewellery party ( a little less riske then Mags's night) then it's a new week already. I've got a few things I've got to chase up. I'm trying to pick tiles for our lounge, dining, kitchen, theatre room (sounds more impressive than it is, it used to be the garage) but everything I look at is either too grey or too cream. At least I've decided on which size tile I like. I'm waiting on a price for a twin recliner too and I think I've decided on a rug I want. We're getting some air-cons fitted next week and someones coming to quotes on replacing our garage door with a sliding one so we've got some stuff going on really.

Alrighty I better get to bed.

Sifting through poo!!!

That's what I've been doing today. I'm looking for a button. It was there one second and gone the next. Ooooooppppsss!! I think (I'm pretty sure actually) that Jack ate a button last night. He had two in his hands and I told him to put them in the container turned my head away then turned back and one had vanished. Stupid I know. Why didn't I just take it off him. I mean I'm still not 100% sure he ate it but he was kind of making a peanut butter eating face and I can't find it anywhere so that's where it must be. I phoned the Qld Health Helpline (fantastic initiative) and even though I had to wait about 20mins it was re-assuring to be able to speak to someone medical at eight o'clock at night. They said to go to my doctor today which we did and he basically said not to really worry about it. I took in a matching button to show him and he thinks it's small enough not to cause a problem. He probably though I was a freak because I'm like, "I looked it up on the internet last night and he had no wheezing, no excess saliva, no trouble breathing, no indications of pain blah, blah, blah". Anyhoo, Jack had his 18 month imunisations while we were there as well.
Tomorrow I have two gentlemen coming to visit me at home in the morning. I don't know whether I but too much stock or what but they are reps for two of the decor accessory companies and when I said I wasn't working and couldn't come in he suggested that they drop around to my house. Now I'm panicing that they're going to pick on my decor. LOL.
Anyway, I'm off to try and scrap. I just fitted a new blade to my craft knife so I better get busy.
Plus my water is being cut off from 9-5 for the next two days so now flushing toilet at our place. How much fun is that going to be. Tomorrow I might just take Jack out for the day after these guys are finished and Friday I'm working and Jack's at DC so it shouldn't be too bad.
Catch you all later.

I've been MIA!!

How boring has my blog been this week?? I've been really busy with work and stuff and the computers been giving me the sh*ts!! Anyhoo, I'm back.
I went to my first ever crop on Friday night. Six till midnight!! It was great fun, great conversation, great bunch of ladies and the were multi drawer prizes and I won some rhinestone brads:) I finished off the page I'd started using the EB BG pack, did a complete page just had to print some stuff when I got home and started a double LO. They're all below. So that was great. There was heaps of space. I'll definately go again and next time I'm going to use some of their stamps and things and I'll plan my pages a bit better.
I've entered the Embellished Idol comp which is very exciting. I can't wait to see what the next challenge is. Some of the entries are sensational.
Well, Jack's just woken and is going to be sleeping in our bed tonight because he's got a bit of a fever and a runny nose so I'd better get to bed. I'll just post my latest LO's in here.
Before I go I just wanted to send out a call to Dee. Are you around?? I havn't seen you in a few days. Hope your okay?!?! Drop me a line.
And I'm changing my song after watching Australian Idol tonight.

The new shelf

I'm still up waiting for the stupid cat to come home so I thought I'd post a photo of the shelf I put up today. Very exciting stuff in my blog hey!?! or not... trying adding photos to my blog tonight is giving me the sheets.

Those LO's

Post and run!!

I've got stocktake at work for the next couple of days and Owen's on holidays so it worked out well in that he can look after Jack for a couple of days but I won't get to spend any time with him which SUCKS!! I really feel like I need to lately too. I miss him being a work all the time and when he's home we're both so busy. I think I'm going to organise a date night soon.

The termite guy came today and did the treatment. He thinks our damage is going to be pretty minimal which is fantastic but we have to wait a month for the stuff to work before we find out for sure which is a tad frustrating. Owen and I have decided that if there's too much damage to the wall in our bedroom that we'll just put in french doors and built a little patio off the room. It would be nice. I have all these fantastic ideas of what I want to do with the back area but I just can't draw it.

I've been a bit down lately. Just not feeling myself and feeling a bit lost really. I think it's going around at the moment. Hopefully the few days at work with lots of running around will help a bit.

I'm really going to get my butt in gear next week and start a HUGE spring clean. I'm so sick of looking at all the excess clothes and things we have jammed in our cupboards. It's all going to go. I've been thinking about some different decorating ideas too. I put up our new shelf in the bathroom today but I put the support bracket on upside down so the screw holes are on the top but it's okay. I looks so much tidier now and everythings out of Jack's reach.

I watched Oprah today and it was so distressing. She had on children who's photos had impacted on society. She had the Ethiopian girl who's photo inspired Bob Geldoff to start Bandaid/Live aid. They had a story about adoption of unwanted Chinese baby girls and they showed a little baby girl who was left to die in an orphange in a room. Just neglected to death. It was so sad. I just held Jack and cried and smothered him with kisses. I try not to think about things like that because I get so upset sometimes. How can people be so cruel? I love my baby so much. I'm so grateful to be a mother. I wish I could adopt one of those babies too.

Anyhoo, better get to bed. Here's a couple of LO's I did today. The museli bar one Jack helped with. He stuck down most of the buttons. Pretty smart hey.

Grr they won't load. I'll try in a new topic.

Tagged! and some random thoughts

This first one has rules....List 5 wierd things about yourself or your pets. Tag 5 friends and list them. Then, those people need to write on their blogs about 5 wierd things, and state the rules, and tag 5 more people. Don't forget to let the people you tag know by posting a comment on their blog!(this took me FOREVER!! obviously i'm not as wierd as i thought....)

1. If I'm having trouble sleeping I type!! I just make up sentances and type away on my chest.

2. I used to drink pickled onion juice. I hardly ever eat pickled onions now but I had a "thing" for the juice and apparently so did my father(which is odd because my folks divorced when I was too young to remember and I never spent much time with my Dad). My Mum told me that if you drank too much of it it would dry up your blood.

3. Jack has a stick on star bath toy that has these bits that attatch to the end of each arm and then have characters that sit on them and they are all colour co-ordinated and of course when I put them away they MUST be on the right colour bit. Bloody Owen even puts them on incorrectly just to bug me.

4. I'm scared of the dark even though I'm a rational person and I'm a grown woman. If I'm out hanging clothes on the line at night or whatever I always have to walk very briskly back to the house just in case there's a vampire flying around or something.

5. OK now this one's gonna be WAY too much info for everyone out there but I'm grasping at straws here. At night before I go to bed the absolute last thing I have to do is go to the loo even if I've been to the loo, then brushed my teeth I still have to go to the loo again just in case there's even half a mil of wee :) ROFLMAO!! No one's ever gonna come back to my blog again after that confession are they.

And I tag...Pauline, Alanna, Dizzy, Kim and Angela

And now for the random thoughts.

I was lying with Jack tonight and just looking at his beautiful angelic face and it made me think about how much I really need to better myself. I just hate the thought of him growing up with un-necessary issues because of me. I really need to eat healthier, be more possitive and organised and patient and really focus on being exactly how I want my child to be.

I can already see the boy he's going to be. He's so funny and he seems soooo much like my brother. He's going to be the kind of kid that makes a hang-glider out of a garbage bag and jumps off the roof or gets a fish spike stuck in his finger just like Kevin. He's runs so fast for such a little fella and he gets sooooo excited about things. It's precious.

My cup runneth over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Up & Down

Well, I've had an up & down week...

UP...we got our tax refunds, YAAAYYY!!! It's always nice to get a bit of money. I get extra tax taken out of my pay every week just so I can get that extra little thrill at refund time.

DOWN...discovered a termite nest behind Owen's sock box in our bedroom. "Insert very sad smiley here"

UP...pest man came and couldn't find trail so he said there's probably a hole in our termi-mesh and all costs will be covered.

DOWN...discovered second nest, exterior, so now all costs are on us. "Insert another very sad smiley here"

So, luckily we live in a cosy (shoe box of a) house as to treat the termites they have to dig a trench around the perimeter (sp?) for the chemical to go in but we're still going to be up for $1500 + the repair costs for damage already done. So I've been a big sooky la-la cry baby today. Anyhoo, what does not kill us makes us stronger. I keep telling Owen, at least we have our health

Oh no, I've just heard the news about Steve Irwin being killed. How terrible for his wife and kids and how horrible that she's uncontactable. He was a great ambassador for Australia and our wildlife. What a tragedy.

Here is the LO I did yesterday using the stuff that Cat got me for the swap. I'm so pleased with the way it turned out. We even did a special photo shoot to get a recent family photo. This was the best of them. In all the other ones Owen and I have weird faces from trying to get Jack to look and smile.

And for Amanda's challenge. Some of my favourite things in my house. My pot rack and my bedside table lamp with jewellery. Sorry that's all I could come up with. I used to have a nicely decorated home but then Jack started walking and climbing and now everything's packed away.

I'm nearly falling asleep at my desk but...

I just can't go to bed without updating my blog.
Last night I went to a jewellery party at a work mates place and it was such a nice night. She'd made it a coctail party theme and everyone got dressed up all pretty like. Since I havn't really had that much to drink since I was pregnant with Jack I was a bit worried at how I'd handle alcohol and apparently I have a reputation at work as a bit of a flasher when I've had too many but I did really well. I had 5 or 6 coctails PLUS 2 shots and I just have to say the fruit tingles coctail is delish. The only bad bit of the night was that I bit down on a jelly snake and half my tooth fell out (that may be an exageration but I'm still going to have to go to the dentist).
Today I went to another jewellery party at my friends mum's place and the stock was phenomenal. The jewellery last night wasn't really my style but this stuff from Gekho is great and really well prices. Here's the website if you want to check it out, http://www.gekho.com.au/ModCoreFrontEnd/index.asp?pageid=108. I even booked a party for October. I only bought a handbag which was only $19 but I booked the party for just after my birthday so I might have some money to spend then. Here's the bag I bought. Jack fell over on the concrete and goonked his head though. Here's a photo of his googy. Poor bubba.
And here's a couple of LO's I did today. The second one is a scaplift of one of the talented Amanda's LO's.
Nighty night.:)

Scraplift!!

Here's a digital page from me using Shabby Princess Urban Kiwi kit, font is hurricane. It's a scraplift of one of Rach's LO's.

Memory Journal

So I decided to start a memory journal this year inspired by the amazing Heidi Swapp.  She is so talented, I just love her style.  I'm ...
